    • PURPOSE:To restrain a shielding material in proper quantity, facilitate maintenance of a member, and reduce exposure of an operator by dislocating openings little by little after the openings aligned of plural shielding bodies are and the penetrating member is inserted and installed. CONSTITUTION:A large number of shielding bodies 9 having a through-hole 12 and a shielding body 10 having a handle 11 are arranged inside of a push in sleeve 2 by fastening by a bolt and nut. In the first place, after the shielding body 10 and the large number of shielding bodies 9 are combined with each other so that the through-hole 12 is put in a straight line shape, a penetrating member 3 inserted in a protective pipe 13 is inserted/arranged. Next, when the shielding bodies 9 are twisted by the handle 11, the shielding bodies 9 are dislocated in order by being dragged by the protective pipe 13, and lastly, the through-hole 12 is formed relatively in an almost helical shape. In this way, prescribed shielding performance is secured, and a shielding effect is made variable, and installation, removal and maintenace of the penetrating member 3 or installation of the shielding bodies 9 can be facilitated, and exposure of an operator can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE: To make possible the simultaneous measurement of neutron energy spectra over a wide range in a short period without spoiling the ease of a radioactivating foil method by using the foil in which plural nuclides are combined to one in the form of an alloy or mixture.
      CONSTITUTION: For example, gold, nickel, aluminum, titanium and alloy are selected as the nuclides to constitute the foil and are mixed at a suitable ratio. The mixture is melted at a high temp. to manufacture the alloy which is then molded to a disk shape. Such disk shape alloy is used. When the foil is subjected to irradiation of neutrons, the foil is made radioactive by the reaction of the neutrons in the energy range different with the nuclides and atomic nuclei and the foil releases gamma rays. Since just one foil is required for the measurement, the time for the measurement is reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retard corrosion as effectively as cathode corrosion prevention without using an external power source by using a metal material that is more excellent in corrosion resistance than a target plate on the side where a proton beam is incident. SOLUTION: When a gold target plate 11 is irradiated with a proton beam of 1.5 GeV in energy, 1 mA in electric current and about 8 cm X about 5.5 cm in size that is obtained from an accelerator, the target plate 11 is positively charged by a positive electrical charge of protons. On this occasion, potential difference appears because an insulator 12 made of ceramics and the like is located between the gold target plate 11 and a supporting frame 2. Notably, metals of a target plate 1, the supporting frame 2 and a target container 3 are kept grounded. Though gold is used only for the first layer of the target plate 11, it may be used for the second and more inner layers because gold in itself also emits so many neutrons through a nuclear crush reaction and is so excellent in corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity that it can be a promising target material. In this case, an insulator 12 made of ceramics and the like may also be located between the target plate 11 and the supporting frame 2. This makes it possible to retard the corrosion of the plate 1, the supporting frame 2 and the container 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielding door which shields radiation and does not hinder the workability of work conducted on a passage by providing a space for housing the door in a radiation shielding wall which is faced to another radiation shielding wall having an opening with a maze in between and installing the door so that the door may move freely between the opening and space. SOLUTION: When the dose equivalent rate is high after irradiation is completed, a shielding door 4 is housed in an opening 13 so as to shield a room 5 containing a radiation source 1. While a space 16 is opened, a separating wall 14 and the door 4 prevent the leakage of radiation. When the dose equivalent rate is low after irradiation is completed and a person wants to enter the room 5, the door 4 is moved toward the space 16 by running the door 4 on rails 6 by rotationally driving wheels 10 by means of a driving device 9 and the door 4 is housed in the space 16 from the opening 13. After the door 4 is housed in the space 16, the person enters the room 5 through a maze 3 and equipment is carried in or out from the room 5. Since the door 4 is utilized as a radiation shielding body by housing the door 4 in one wall, the door 4 is not left on the outside of the wall and the equipment can be easily carried in and out from the room 5.
