摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the hardness and moisture resistance of a protective film by forming the protective film constituted by dispersing gamma type aluminum oxide into an amorphous carbon fluoride film on the surface of a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:The protective film is formed by dispersing the gamma type aluminum oxide having high hardness into the amorphous carbon fluoride film having excellent moisture resistance and corona property. Although the amorphous carbon fluoride film is higher in moisture resistance than the gamma type aluminum oxide, the Mohs' hardness thereof is 2.5 which is smaller than 6.5 Mohs' hardness of the gamma type aluminum oxide. The protective film is, thereupon, formed by dispersing the gamma type aluminum oxide having the high Mohs' hardness into the amorphous carbon fluoride film having the good moisture resistance. The hardness and moisture resistance of the protective film are improved in this way.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a printing defect by equipping the title device with a cleaning mechanism for image forming and a cleaning mechanism dedicated to protective-film forming for cleaning the surface of a photosensitive body before a protective film is formed. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning mechanism 109 dedicated to protective-film forming is provided on the device to reduce the quantity of toner or paper dust remaining on the surface of the photosensitive body before the protective film is formed. That is, when image forming is completed, a developing unit is separated away from the surface of the photosensitive body to prevent the toner from adhering thereto by the cleaning mechanism 109. Then the toner is removed by the cleaning mechanism for image forming which operates immediately after an image is formed, and immediately before the protective film is formed, the cleaning mechanism dedicated to protective-film forming is brought into contact with the surface of the photosensitive body and performs cleaning for protective-film forming. As a result, the number of toner particles remaining on the surface of the photosensitive body is reduced to , thereby decreasing the number of defects which occur when the protective film is formed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of potential of electrostatic charge caused by decreasing of film thickness and also the running of image by providing a resin application part and resin coating the surface of an organic photoconductive body (OPC) at appropriate intervals of utilizing frequency utilizing an electrophotographic process. CONSTITUTION:The OPC photosensitive body 110 is charged electrostatically by an electrifying device 109 and toner is adhered at a developing part 103 to an electrostatic image formed by projecting a beam pattern on the OPC photosensitive body, which passed through a lens 101 and a reflect mirror 102. Then the toner is transferred at a transfer part 105 onto paper carried by a feeding roll 104, and after passing through a separation part 106, the toner remaining on the surface of the OPC photosensitive body is scraped off at a cleaning part 107. Further, after having the surface of the photosensitive body cleaned at a cleaning part 107, resin is applied using a resin applicating roll 108. This roll 108 is connectable/disconnectable with the surface of the photosensitive body, and made to come into contact with the OPC photosensitive body to carry out resin application after using an appropriate number of paper required for resin application. Thus the lowering of potential by electrostatic charge can be cut down and running of image can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:When an electrophotographic sensitive body having an amorphous silicon film is produced with the magnetic field applied plasma CVD device, the intensity of a magnetic field generated by magnets incorporated into the device is regulated to 700-1,000G on a cathode. Plasma is effectively confined by a leakage magnetic field to increase the density and plasma is stably maintained under low pressure of gas. Accordingly, the average free range of particles is extended, the amt. of dust is minimized and film formation at a high rate is enabled.

For this purpose, a surface layer 302 comprising amorphous carbon film contg. at least one of halogen and hydrogen is formed on the photosensitive layer 101, and unevennesses are formed on the free surface 301 of the surface layer. Namely, after forming the photosensitive layer 101 by plasma CVD process, sputtering process, ion plating process, etc., feed gas contg. a halogen compd. is decomposed by high frequency glow discharge, wherein the pressure of the gas is reduced in the midway of the glow discharge. By this method, unevennesses are formed on the free surface of the surface layer simultaneously with the formation of the surface layer 302. Thus, generation of flow of a picture image in a printed figure or character, etc., is prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a homogeneous amorphous silicon photosensitive body by producing plasma between a conductive drum-type supporting body and an electrode opposed to the body and supplying a raw gas contg. CONSTITUTION:A conductive drum-type supporting body 105 is fixed on a drum holder 107 in a reaction vessel 101, and a high-frequency electrode 104 is arranged in opposition to the surface of the supporting body 105. A gas contg. molecules contg. Si is blown between the supporting body 105 and the electrode 104 from a raw gas nozzle 106, and plasma is produced by a high-frequency power source. A film is formed on the supporting body 105 by utilizing the plasma to obtain a hydrogenated amorphous silicon photosensitive body. In this method of production, the amt. of raw gas to be blown is controlled to 0.5-50s c cm/mm based on the area of the nozzle 106. In this case, the interval between respective nozzles 106 is preferably controlled to 1-20cm, and the area to 0.2-10mm . By this method, the film thickness is uniformized, and an electrophotographic sensitive body free of unevenness in the electrostatic charge and image is obtained.
