    • PURPOSE:To suppress rise of the temperature of an electric motor for driving an air pump so as to extend the life of the electric motor by forming an air take-in passage extending to the inlet of the air pump after passing the circumference of the electric motor. CONSTITUTION:In an air pump 1 provided in such constitution that an impeller 4 is rotated in a casing 6 by means of driving of an electric motor 2 through a shaft 3 so as to raise the pressure of outside air absorbed from an air inlet 8, and the air is, for example, supplied as secondary air to the exhaust pipe of an engine, an electric motor cover 10 having an inlet pipe 9 is arranged so as to cover the circumference of the electric motor 2, and the cover 10 is assembled ingegratedly with the casing 6. An electric motor circumference air passage 11 is thus formed. When the air pump 1 is operated, air taken from the inlet pipe 9 is absorbed to be increased in its pressure through the electric motor circumference air passage 11, a housing air passage 17, a casing air passage 7, and the air inlet 8, and then, the electric motor 2 is cooled by air flow passing through the air passage 11.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a change of air-fuel ratio, by providing a valve, which is closed when a low negative pressure is generated in an intake pipe, in an air passage of a carburetor, in case of the feedback type carburetor equipped with a duty solenoid provided in the air passage for correcting a slow system mixture. CONSTITUTION:Fuel from a main jet 3 and a jet 8, opened and closed by a valve of a feedback controlled solenoid 5, passes from a passage 4 through a well 2 and a main nozzle 11 being supplied to a Venturi 12 while branches from the passage 4 through a passage 14 and a slow jet 15 being supplied also from ports 20, 21. A slow system is equipped with an air bleed 16 of small contour and an air orifice 18 of large contour, which is feedback controlled, and air from the air orifice 18 passes through a passage 19. The passage 19, in which an intake pipe negative pressure is introduced by a pipe 24, is equipped with a valve 28 closed by a spring 26 when the small negative pressure is generated. When the small negative pressure is generated in an intake pipe, a reverse flow of air from the slow system to a main system is prevented.
