摘要： A network communication method (and system) enables received data to be transferred directly to the user data region, thereby eliminating the need to perform data copy operations. Packets are each provided with received region assignment information (port ID) for showing the region in which the packet is to be received and/or division information for dividing the packet. The region which is to receive data contained in the packet is determined from a port table and conversion tables, and the packet data is transferred to the region directly.

摘要： In a computer network, transmission and reception buffers 103,104, 109 -112 of sender and receiver processes are prepared as resident areas in main storage. A receiver node 122 notifies, prior to initiation of a communication, a physical address of, and access right code of, a data reception area of the node to a sender node 120. In the sender node, the notified physical address and access right code are added to transmission data. In the receiver node, received data is checked for validity and written in a location of the main storage at the physical address. Double buffering 108, 110, 112 is employed to prevent overwriting of a data reception area already in use. The respective nodes achieve partial synchronization with adjacent nodes in a chain, thereby automatically establishing synchronization between all nodes.

摘要： The present invention enables the data service provider to design new services based on finer control of the data transmission resources. For example, in the MQLVS system illustrated in Fig. 1, instead of limiting the service changes solely on the basis of the first packet of an MPEG- data unit, the service provider can control the service changes in terms of time clicks, on the basis of the video content as the video scene changes, as traffic conditions vary, and so on. Service can be incorporated with the accounting and/or billing policies of the provider, where customers at the client end pay the provider depending on the quality of services that they desire. The invention can be utilized to increase effective usage of network resources.

First, a plurality of candidate points (110...120) which have been input by a user are displayed on a screen. A smooth curve (100) which connects the plurality of candidate points is determined and is displayed on a display apparatus (Fig. 4A). The intensity of light on a straight line (130) extending in a direction normal to each candidate point is determined (Fig. 4B). The position of the candidate point is corrected based upon the rate of change in the intensity of light which is determined for each candidate point. 摘要： A distributed shared memory management system for a distributed shared memory computer system having a plurality of computers interconnected by a network, each computer having an independent address space and logically sharing data physically distributed to a storage of each computer. Each computer running a program for reading/changing the shared data includes a coherence control designation command for designating to enter a mutual exclusion state in which two or more computers cannot change the logically single shared data, a coherence control release command for designating a release of the mutual exclusion state, and a coherence control execution command for reflecting the contents of the shared data changed between the coherence control designation command and the coherence control release command, upon the logically single shared data in another computer. At least one of the plurality of computers includes a request message queue for storing a coherence control request message issued by the coherence control execution command when the coherence control designation command is executed. The coherence control designation command includes data for designating the order of reading/changing the shared data, and the request message queue includes a counter for storing a current state regarding the control of the order of reading/changing the shared data and a unit for storing a value regarding the control of the order of reading/changing the shared data.
