    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the recording current to an optimum value regardless of the change of ambient temp. in a magnetic recording/reproducing device by which plural information signals are classified in the thickness direction and superpasedly recorded by providing an amplitude control circuit for controlling the recording current supplied to a magnetic head. SOLUTION: A recording FM signal outputted from a recording signal processing circuit 20 is inputted to the amplitude control circuit 30, and the amplitude control circuit 30 changes the amplitude of a video recording signal according to the ambient temp. to control the recording current flowing through the magnetic head 60. For instance, when the ambient temp. is raised, and the video recording current is raised, the circuit 30 brings the video recording current close to the optimum value by reducing the video recording current by change much of an optimum recording current according to the rise of the ambient temp., and prevents a change in a regenerative sound FM output voltage. Thus, since the level value of the recording current is set in the optimum value always regardless of the change in the ambient temp., a regenerative signal with an excellent regenerative characteristic having an excellent S/N ratio is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To enable satisfactory time base correction even in the case of reproduction at high-speed as several tens or several hundreds times of high as the recording speed of two kinds of recording modes, a standard mode and a wide band mode having different carrier frequencies of an FM modulated luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:A time base correcting circuit 15 performs time base correction to a reproduced signal from a magnetic tape 3 at the time of high-speed reproduction, the FM modulated luminance signal in that regenerative signal is processed by a luminance signal processing circuit 29, and the luminance signal of a base band is provided at an output terminal 35. The FM modulated luminance signal processed by an FM equalizing circuit 27 of the luminance signal processing circuit 29 is supplied to a mode discriminating circuit 28 and corresponding to the difference of the carrier frequency, the standard and wide band modes are discriminated. A horizontal synchronizing signal for time base correction processing is detected from the reproduced signal by a synchronizing signal detection circuit 18 but the characteristics of this synchronizing signal detection circuit 18 is switched so as to match the respective recording modes corresponding to a mode discriminate signal from the mode discriminating circuit 28.

    • PURPOSE:To optimize an equalizer characteristic by heightening a peak point frequency in an amplitude frequency characteristic when the amplitude of a reproduced signal is higher than a standard reproduced value and lowering the peak point frequency when lower. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced FM signal obtained from a magnetic tape 1 and a magnetic recording and reproducing head 2 is amplified to a level capable of signal processing by a preamplifier 3. The FM signal is inputted to an HPF 4, and the dependency of the amplitude of the regenerative FM signal for an FM carrier frequency is canceled. Then, a DC voltage in proportion to the amplitude of the regenerative FM signal is taken out by an envelope detection circuit 5, and the peak value of the equalizer characteristic is controlled. At this time, the peak point frequency in the amplitude frequency characteristic is lowered when the amplitude of the regenerative signal is higher than the standard reproducing value, and the peak point frequency is heightened when the amplitude of the regenerative signal is lower than the standard reproducing value. Then, the optimum equalizer characteristic is obtained since the peak frequency of the equalizer characteristic is varied according to a reproduced output.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the arbitrary formation of the character video signals corresponding to character codes by providing an ID code decoder which extracts character information to the ID code output of a PCM data signal processing circuit of a reproduction system and adding the output thereof to a character pattern generating circuit, thereby forming video information. CONSTITUTION:The identification code(ID code) which is the additive information of a reproduced sound signal and video signal is divided into the code indicating the state at the time of PCM sound recording and the code indicating the character information by an ID code decoder 6. The code indicating the recording state is outputted to a microcomputer 12 for control and controls the reproducing state of a VTR and is displayed on the outside of the VTR. The code indicating the character information is rearranged in order of the codes by the 6 and is added to a character pattern generating circuit 7, from which the character information as the video signal is taken out. The character signal is added by a superimposing circuit 11 which superposes character signal on the reproduced video signal. The character signal is arbitrary displayed on a screen in this way only when a user requires the character information.
