    • Two systems of low-pressure core spray apparatuses have coolers (20A, 20B), and are adapted to supply cooling water to a core spray header (21) provided in a core-surrounding cylindrical shroud in a reactor pressure vessel (7). Two systems of high-pressure core flooding apparatuses (14A, 14B) and one system of high-pressure coolant injection apparatus (27) are adapted to supply the cooling water to a region formed between the shroud (8) and reactor pressure vessel (7). The elevations of the openings, which are in the reactor pressure vessel (7), of the high-pressure core flooding apparatus (14A, 14B) and high-pressure coolant injection apparatus (27) are higher than that of the core spray header (21). A pipe (26A, 26B) for returning the cooling water in the reactor pressure vessel to the above-mentioned coolers is connected to either the portion of the interior of the reactor pressure vessel which is below the core or the portion of the interior of the reactor pressure vessel which is between the walls of the shroud and reactor pressure vessel. The above-mentioned pipe (26A, 26B) is provided therein with a valve (33A, 34A, 33B, 34B) which is adapted to be closed when the nuclear reactor stops being operated in an emergency in which the breakage of a pipe occurs, and to be opened when the nuclear reactor is stopped under normal conditions.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up core performance calculation by improving convergence of nuclear thermohydraulic calculation in total core performance calculation. SOLUTION: Provided are a partial core region specifying means 8 specifying partial core region for locally executing core performance calculation for the operation of each control rod after a total core performance calculation time, a core performance calculation means 9 executing core performance calculation on the specified partial core region based on the nuclear thermohydraulic calculation model, and a conserving means 10 for power distribution and nuclear constants renewing and conserving the initial value of power distribution and nuclear constants of the partial core region based on the power distribution and void distribution obtained with the core performance calculation means 9. By this, the initial value of power distribution and nuclear constants necessary for executing the total core performance calculation can be prepared with values close to the core state at the moment when the power distribution and the void distribution match.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant simulation system which improves its working efficiency by shortening the time needed for verification of an object controller. SOLUTION: When a controller 11 is simulated by a single verification device 1, the switch means 8 and 10 are closed and opened respectively. Then the controller 11 is separated from the device 1, and a program start adjustment means 3 functions to fast simulate a controller simulation program 7 and a plant simulation program 5 in a short time smaller than the real time. Thus the reference response characteristic is acquired in a short time for verification of the controller 1. When the controller 11 is verified, the means 8 and 10 are opened and closed respectively. Then the means 3 starts the program 5 in response to the computing cycle of the controller 11 to verify and test the controller 11 in real time. The result of this verification/test is compared with the reference response characteristic acquired previously, so that the quality of the controller 11 is verified.
