摘要： A replicated data processing method and apparatus for a distributed processing system are provided in which a plurality of processors (1, 2) are connected to one another through a common transmission line. The processors (1, 2) perform processes using replicated data produced by resources such as files (12, 22) replicated in respective processors (1, 2). Any processor (1, 2) issues an access request (301, 321) and broadcasts the request to the common transmission line. User's program (13, 23) of the processor (1, 2) is initiated by a first-received data (302, 322) in response to the request (301, 321), and checks matching between the first-received data (302, 322) of the replicated data and the subsequently received data (303, 323) to repeat a retry processing for the request (309, 329) until a mismatch is removed.

In the loosely coupled multiprocessor computer, a serial transmission medium (2) is employed as the transmission medium; transmission control unit (31) for performing both a conversion process between data to be transmitted, flowing through the serial transmission medium and the processed data, and also a transmission/reception process of the data to be transmitted via the serial transmission medium, is provided with the input/ output control unit, storage and process unit; and furthermore, unit process unit for controlling the input/output control unit, storage, and transmission control unit is provided with the input/output control unit and storage with the transmission control unit.

Each processor connected over the network judges whether to receive the message on the basis of the content code. Each processor is capable of prejudging not to receive a message on the basis of only an area of the content code to quickly and efficiently select some of the messages not to be received. In addition, the processors are able to post-judge to determine whether to receive or not receive the remaining messages based upon the remainder of the content code.

摘要： The present invention relates to an upgrade method and system. The upgrade technique is used in a multiprocessor system. The processor to be upgraded investigates resources under control by itself before deciding any of the resources to be moved and/or duplicated. The processor decides any of the processors to which the movement and/or the duplication of any of the resources is destined. The resource is moved or duplicated and the upgrade of the processor to upgraded is executed. As a result of this system the computer system can be upgraded while a user continues to work on the computer.
