    • PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of both sliding parts in a hot-dipping bath by constituting one of the shaft sliding part and the sliding part of the bearings of a roll to be used in the hot-dipping bath of a ceramic sintered body and the other of a solid lubricative sintered body. CONSTITUTION:The bearing part of the support roll 20 for a steel strip in the hot- dipping bath is fitted to on a roll 33 made of a highly corrosion resistant metal, such as stainless steel and a Sialon ceramic sleeve 32 is inserted onto the circumference of an intermediate material 34, which is alternately wound with stainless steel pipes and oxygen-free copper wires, to constitute the shaft sliding part of the roll, then pressing and fixing this part by means of a retaining ring 35 at the time of plating the steel strip with a metal, such as molten Zn, thereby preventing the infiltration of the molten metal between the sleeve 32 and the roll shaft 33. The sliding part on the inside surface of the bearing 41 in contact with the shaft sliding part of the roll is constituted of the solid lubridative sliding part 40 made of carbon fiber reinforced graphite, etc. The coefft. of friction between the roll shaft 33 and the bearing 41 is small and the roll is rotated by the transportation of the plated steel strip in contact therewith, by that, the roll is acted as a roll without requiring a motor and the corrosion of the roll in the hot-dipping bath is prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting apparatus which reduces thermal distortion in the melting apparatus having a plurality of melting chambers in a circumferential direction. SOLUTION: A melting tower 1 is composed of an outer cylinder 13 and an inner cylinder 14. A space formed by the outer cylinder and inner cylinder of the melting tower 1 has upper and middle stages with a plurality of melting chambers 15c arranged in a circumferential direction, and a lower stage with a melting chamber 15d continuously arranged in the circumferential direction. The melting apparatus is composed of a cartridge heater 2a serving as a convergent heating means for convergently heating a plurality of melting chambers 15c arranged in the circumferential direction of the upper and middle stages of the melting tower 1, and a band heater 2b and an induction coil 2c serving as a uniform heating means for uniformly heating the melting chamber 15d continuously arranged in the circumferential direction of the lower stage of the melting tower, to melt metallic material chips supplied into the space formed between the outer cylinder and inner cylinder of the melting tower 1.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a metal having reached a temperature of a liquidus or higher to be supplied stably to a plunger by continuously melting chips of a metallic material without using a screw, to reduce the entraining of a slug into a product, and to shorten the time to start-up the operation.
      SOLUTION: A closed container of a melting tower 2 is composed of a fixed outer cylinder 13 and a rotatable inner cylinder 14, and a preliminary heating chamber 24, semi-melting chamber 25, and a complete melting chamber 26 are formed by the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder. A band heater 15 is equipped on the outside of the outer tower, and a induction coil 16 is equipped on the inside of the inner cylinder. The chips of the metallic material are supplied in the preliminary chamber 24, and the chips of the metallic material in a solid state after preliminary heating is supplied in the semi-melting chamber 25 by the deadweight falling. The chips of the metallic material are heated until becoming a semi-molten state, and the metallic material in the semi-molten state is supplied in the complete melting chamber 26 by falling by the deadweight to melt the metallic material until the complete liquidus or higher. The treatment of the final melting part and the treatment of the first preliminary heating part are carried out simultaneously.
