    • PURPOSE:To discontinue a reading action for an optional period and to ensure a free variation of shutter speeds by using also an optical shutter to control the supplying time of a driving pulse to a solid state image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:The optical image of an object is irradiated on an image pickup element 2 through a lens 1 and an optical shutter 15. A pulse 31 is produced when a shutter button 8 is pushed. A logical circuit 17 actuates a shutter time setting pulse generating circuit 18, and the circuit 18 produces a pulse 33 which decides the opening time of the shutter 15. The pulse 33 and a pulse 30 which decides the reading cycle are sent to a logical circuit 20 for production of a pulse 34. Then a driving pulse inhibiting circuit 21 is actuated to discontinue the reading action of the element 2 for a fixed period. It is regarded that an electronic shutter is obtained while the reading of the element 2 is inhibited.

    • PURPOSE: To simplify the control when the continuous snapshot is executed for several seconds or less and to reduce the power consumption, by revolving a motor for a fixed period after the recording is over.
      CONSTITUTION: When a shutter 10 is pushed, a motor 5 is revolved by a motor control circuit 12. An optical shutter 7 is opened and closed after the number of revolutions of the motor 5 reaches a specified level. Then the photoelectric conversion is carried out by an image pickup element 8. The signal of the element 8 is read out, and the signals equivalent to a frame are sampled to be recorded to a magnetic head 4. In such a way, the shutter 7 is opened and closed after the number of revolutions of the motor 5 reaches a fixed level. This produces a delay of about one second for the first image. However it is possible to release the shutter without producing virtually any delay in case of the continuous snapshot by revolving the motor 5 for a specified period after the recording is over.
