At power running, a converter element 8d is switched and chopper control is executed. At regenerative running, a converter element 8a is switched, and voltage drop chopper control is executed. Regenerated energy is supplied to the emergency DC power 5. When the current detection value of a converter 6 reaches a prescribed value, the switching of the converter element 8a is stopped, and a converter element 8c is switched, and regenerated energy is consumed by a discharge resistor 17.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uncomfortable feeling from being given to passengers by vibration, by selecting the numbers of poles and slots of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor, so that the frequencies of its torque ripple and cogging torque may coincide with a mechanical resonance frequency, at a speed sufficiently lower than the vicinity of its rated speed. SOLUTION: In a permanent-magnet synchronous motor wherein coils 2 are wound on a stator 1 and permanent magnets 4 are fixed to a rotor 3, the number p of poles of the permanent-magnet synchronous motor is selected so that the frequency of its torque ripple generated at a speed approximately equal to or lower than half of its rated speed may coincide with the mechanical resonance frequency of an elevator. And the number m of slots is selected for this number p of poles so that the frequency of a cogging torque may not coincide with the mechanical resonance frequency at a speed near the rated speed. Consequently, it becomes possible to prevent continuous vibration which is generated at the time of running at time rated speed and felt extremely uncomfortable by passengers.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue the normal running of a converter even when one of current detectors provided in the respective input phases of the converter fails. SOLUTION: A failure detecting circuit 2 is provided for current detectors 4 installed in the respective input phases of a converter 5, a current estimation circuit 1 is provided for estimating an optional current of one phase based on an output from a current detector of a phase (N-1) not including this phase, and the output of a failed current detector is switched to that of the current estimation circuit based on the output of the failure detecting circuit 2. Even if any one of the current detectors fails, the running of the converter is continued. Thus, when this converter is used for an elevator device, even if one of the current detectors fails, since the normal running of the elevator is continued, the caging-up of passengers is prevented.
