    • PURPOSE:To eliminate refrigerant noise when an operation is started and further to reduce a driving force for a two-way valve by a method wherein opening or closing valves are arranged at a liquid side connecting pipe and a gas side connecting pipe of an indoor unit and a control circuit for opening the gas side opening or closing valves in the stopped indoor unit after an expansion valve is temporarily closed during the operation is provided. CONSTITUTION:An outdoor unit 1 is comprised of a compressor 3, a four-way valve 4, an outdoor heat exchanger 5, an outdoor fan 6, an electrical expansion valve 7, gas side opening or closing valves 8A, 8B for opening or closing gas side connecting pipes 12A, 12B, liquid side opening or closing valves 9A, 9B for opening or closing the liquid side connection pipes 13A, 13B, and bypassing passages 16A, 16B for preventing an accumulation of refrigerant having capillary tubes 14A, 14B as well as check valves 15A, 15B installed therein. During a heating operation and when an operation of the indoor unit 1 is started, the expansion valve 7 is closed, resulting in that no flow of the refrigerant is found and a pressure in the indoor unit 1 is decreased down to the level of saturation pressure at surrounding temperature, and no refrigerant noise occurs even if the opening or closing valves are opened.

    • PURPOSE:To enable thermal radiation of a heat exchanger to be carried out without using any fan irrespective of a natural air flow by a method wherein a duct is mounted on an upper part of a condensing heat exchanger, an upper part of the condensing heat exchanger is expanded more than its lower part and a compressor is stored in the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 1 is mounted in a part enclosed by a condensing heat exchanger 2 and the heat exchanger 2 is disposed in such a shape as one in which it is expanded from its lower part toward its upper part. Air in an outdoor unit is heated by a radiation of condensing latent heat for cooling of the heat exchanger 2 and a heat radiation of the compressor 1 so as to generate a buoyancy. Air around the heat exchanger 2 is fed inside the outdoor unit under a natural convection flow as indicated by a broken arrow due to a draft effect in a duct 10 and then the air is discharged out of the upper part of the duct. Accordingly, it is possible to promote heat radiation of the heat exchanger 2 against the surrounding air without using any fan. Since the heat exchanger 2 is disposed over the ground earth 12 by an installing table 11, it is also possible to perform heat radiation of the forced convection flow to the surrounding air with natural air.

    • PURPOSE:To make an accumulator smaller in size by providing solenoid valves in the midst of paths to room heat exchangers. CONSTITUTION:Room heat exchangers 7a, 7b and 7c are provided with solenoid valves 8a, 8b and 8c respectively in the midst of refrigerant pipes, and the solenoid valves 8a, 8b and 8c are opened during operation and closed during stoppage. The position of the solenoid valve 8a on the refrigerant path to the room heat exchanger 7a is determined so that the volume of an electric expansion valve 5a side of the room heat exchanger that is separated by the solenoid valve 8a equals to the volume of liquid refrigerant contained in the entire room heat exchanger 7a in heating operation, and the volume of the electric expansion valve 5a side of the room heat exchanger that is separated by the solenoid valve 8a equals to the volume of liquid refrigerant contained in the entire room heat exchanger 7a in cooling operation. As a result, the amount of refrigerant contained in a room unit out of operation equals to that contained in a room unit in operation. Therefore, even when a room unit is optionally stopped, an excess of refrigerant does not occur in the whole refrigerant piping, so that an accumulator can be made smaller in size.

    • PURPOSE:To establish corrosion prevention of a heat exchanger with a heat storage tank accommodating a latent heat storage agent ordinarily displaying weak alkalinity or weak acidity by causing a fluid having a density which is smaller than said latent heat storage agent and is free from volatility, to float on the surface of the latent heat storage agent to carry out interruption of air from a latent heat storage agent. CONSTITUTION:In general, when a latent heat storage agent 2 radiates heat and solidifies, the density thereof is increased. When the latent heat storage agent 2 sucks up heat and is dissolved the density thereof is decreased. Because the volume of the latent heat storage agent 2 varies, a space 6 is provided at the upper part of a vessel 4 so as to absorb the volume change. Since air exists ordinarily in the space 6, the bordery surface 7 between the air and the latent heat storage agent is exposed to oxygen within the air, and a part of a metal heat exchanger 3 disposed on the bordery surface 7 is liable to be corroded. Therefore, when a fluid 8 free of compatibility to the latent heat storage agent 2 and further free of volatility is caused to float on the upper part of the latent heat storage agent 2, air in the space 6 and said latent heat storage agent 2 is interrupted by the fluid 8. Hence, the corrosion of the heat exchanger 3 existing on the interface 7 is prevented, and the reliability of the heat storage device can be largely improved.

    • PURPOSE:To gradually humidify the whole interior of a room and keep comfortable humidity by a method wherein humidifying function is added by utilizing a fan contained in a heat pump type air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:Air past through a grill 3 and a filter 4 is heated by a heat exchanger 1 and blown-off into a room after being guided by an air directing plate 5. A flocked metal gauze 8 equipped with capillary action is arranged in advance on the front surface facing to the direction of air flow of a heat exchanger 1. Moisture, with which the metal gauze is wetted, vaporises itself and is blown-off into the room by means of a fan 7 in order to hymidify the interior of the room. A means to supply the moisture to the flocked meral gauze 8 is to dip the end of the flocked metal gauze 8 into a water receiving pan 9 arranged beneath a water sotrage tank 10 (not shown in fig.), which is located above an indoor unit and in which a self sucking valve 11 (not shown in fig.) is contained, in order to supply the moisture to the flocked metal gauze 8 due to capillarity. Further, water is fed from a water storage tank 13 provided indoors or outdoors. The water in the water storage tank 13 is sucked up by a submerged pump 14 so as to be fed through a hose 15 to the water receiving tray 9 in order to wet the flocked metal gauze 8.
