SOLUTION: When a changeover gear 33 whose positions are changeable in up and down directions is engaged with a gear 32b and at the same time, the gear 33 is engaged with a connection gear 81. The connecting gear 81 is engaged with a connection gear 82 and moreover the connection gear 82 is engaged with a gear 35 integrally formed with a worm gear 10 and the driving force of a capstan motor is transmitted to a front loading mechanism. When the front loading mechanism is not operated, the changeover gear 33 is energized to a position where the engagement of the gear 33 with the gear 32 is disengaged. The connection gears 81, 82 are made to be in stopped states at the time of a recording and a reproduction in this manner. The shaft 62 of a pulley 32, the shaft 66 of a gear 36, the shaft 67 of a sliding and clutching mechanism 37 and the shaft 63 of the changeover gear 33 are respectively embedded on a main chassis 22.
