    • PURPOSE:To improve recording density in magnetic recording to the extent of the recording density obtained in magneto-optical recording by irradiating a superconducting part covering a magnetic recording part with light so that a normal conductive state may be obtained and allowing a part of the line of magnetic flux to pass there. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting layer 6 is provided between a magnetic pole part 3 and a magnetic layer 2. Next, the superconducting part 8 covering a part 7 where the magnetic recording is performed is irradiated with the light beam (laser light beam) 9 so as to destroy the superconducting state only at that part and obtain the normal conductive state. In such a state, a part of the line of magnetic flux 4 passes the normal conductive part 8 and inverts the spontaneous magnetism of the magnetic layer 2 to perform the magnetic recording. At such a time, the diameter of the magnetic flux which passes the normal conductive part 8 is converged to the same size as the diameter of the laser light 9 with which the part 8 is irradiated, so that the size of the magnetic recording part 7 is made small to the extent of the diameter of the laser light beam 9. Thus, the recording density in the magnetic recording is improved to the extent of that in the magneto-optical recording.
