    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert a stator coil easily into a slot through an insulating paper even if the clearance between the slot and the stator coil is small.
      SOLUTION: The insulating paper wound around the stator coil is formed to surround the surface in the slot and divided to overlap at the opening of the slot on the inner circumferential side thereof. The insulating paper is folded at a part facing the circumferential side face of the slot in the opening direction of the divided part, and further folded axially inward to overlap the opposite ends. Consequently, the stator coil can be inserted easily from the wide opening and the divided parts of the insulating paper can be overlapped by simply inserting the stator coil.

Namely, it is wound via the outside-diameter side of the part 18P of the electric wire 18 wound to the winding end 7E. Thus, winding thickness of stator winding 7, in the winding end part 7E, can be made small, and the stator core 6 is increased in the axial direct by the corresponding amount; and the performance of the rotary electric machine (1) can be improved.

      SOLUTION: In the first step, an outer circumferential part of a rod-shaped conductor 1 is pressed, while being restricted by dies 9 and 10, in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the rod-shaped conductor 1 by means of a press tool 11, a hole 2 is formed in the pressing portion by plastic deformation, and a protrusion 3 is formed in the direction opposite to the pressing portion. In the second step, a through hole 6 is formed from the direction of the bottom of the protrusion 3 in the center thereof by means of a boring tool 12. Consequently, the protrusion 3 and the through hole 6 are formed in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the rod-shaped conductor 1.

The rectangular conductor 2 ceases to be forced into large transformation by twisting the winding element ends 4 by 180° in its longitudinal direction, consequently it can prevent the damage of a covered insulator or the break of the rectangular conductor itself or the occurrence of cracks.
