    • PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of connection by conductive material. CONSTITUTION:The external connecting terminals formed on a lower transparent substrate SUB 1 and inter-substrate connecting terminals CTM are connected via drawing out wirings INT. The inter-substrate connecting terminals CTM and common transparent pixel electrodes ITO 2 formed on an upper transparent glass substrate SUB 2 are connected by a conductive paste material CDP. The inter-substrate connecting terminals CTM are formed out of first conductive films (transparent conductive films) d1. The parts corresponding to the conductive paste material CDP parts of light shielding films BM are provided with openings PPH. These openings PPH are formed larger than the inter-substrate connecting terminals CTM. Conductive beads CDB which are formed by plating the surfaces of spherical polymer resins with gold and are mixed with an epoxy thermosetting resin are used as the conductive paste materials CDP.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the contamination of liquid crystals occurring in contaminants in an end-sealing material or sealing material and to lessen the occurrence of a display unevenness defect by disposing a bank between a display region and at least either of the end-sealing material and the sealing material. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal injection port INJ and the sealing material SL are formed between two transparent glass substrates SUB1 and SUB2 constituting a liquid crystal display panel PNL along their edges. The injection port INJ is sealed with the end-sealing material ESL. The bank BNK is formed between a matrix part AR (display region) and the entire circumference of the end-sealing material ESL and the sealing material SL. The bank BNK comprises a conductive film, insulating film, i-type semiconductor layer and protective film on the SUB1 side. The bank comprises a light shielding film, red color filters, protective film and common pixel electrodes on the substrate SUB2 side. These films are the films used in the matrix part AR.
