    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a heating process width (nip width) and pressurizing force, sufficient for fulfilling a great fixing capacity at a high speed and to enable reduction in power consumption and the shortening of the rising time of a device, in a fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is set so that heating by heating elements 8 and pressurization by rollers 4 and 9, required for fixing are separately attained and a path for a heating process by the heating elements 8 is constituted of endless carrying belts 6. For instance, a pair of the endless carrying belts 6 wound on two or more rotatable rollers respectively are used and the certain sides of these belts 6 come into opposite contact with each other. Then, plural heating elements 2 are disposed in one side of one of the belts 6, in a traveling direction, to constitute a heating part, and at least the roller 9 on the downstream side in the heating part, out of the rotatable rollers 9 on the side of the other belt 6 is pressed on the corresponding roller 4 on the side of the heating device 8 by a spring 11, to obtain a pressurizing part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the paper carrying/sucking pressure constant, irrespective of paper size, to enable a paper to be fed to a fixing device while keeping the paper posture flat and to reduce the generation of wrinkles, by finely adjusting the opening area of an air leak valve installed on a suction box part in accordance with the paper size. SOLUTION: A paper 1 is sucked to a belt 5b by the paper carrying/sucking pressure, then, the paper is carried to a fixing device 11 in accordance with the rotation of the belt 5b. At this time, as for the suction holes 5j formed in the bottom surface of the suction box, the number of closed suction holes is changed in accordance with the size of the paper 1, and as the number of the holes is changed, the paper carrying/sucking pressure is changed. Then, the air leak valve 5k installed on the upper part of the suction box 5f is opened/ closed by a solenoid 5m in synchronism with a paper size detecting mechanism set in a paper feeding part. Thus, even in the case where the size of the paper 1 is changed, the sum of the total area of the suction holes 5j not shut by the paper 1 on the bottom surface of the suction box 5f and the opening area of the air leak part is fixed, then, the paper 1 can be carried in a stable posture.

    • PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic device, which can prevent the feeding of a paper sheet curled more than the regulation in a paper carrying passage so as to previously prevent the generation of paper jam in the paper carrying passage and which is coupled with a paper sheet curl correcting mechanism so as to perform the stabilized carrying of the paper sheet. CONSTITUTION: A paper sheet 11 is carried in a paper carrying passage by a carrying roller 12 and a pressure roller 13 in the condition that it is curled upward or downward. At this stage, an optical distance sensor 14 provided in the paper carrying passage detects direction and quantity of curl of the paper sheet 11. In the case where the tip of the paper sheet 11 is curled upward, when the tip of the paper sheet 11 passes under the sensor 14, the paper sheet 11 comes closest to the sensor 14 surface, and separated from the sensor 14 surface, as it is carried away. In the case where the tip of the paper sheet 11 is curled downward, the paper sheet 11 is passed in the opposite condition.
