    • PURPOSE:To permit the detection of gaseous CO without being affected by environmental humidity by using a powder mixture composed of 100pts.wt. SnO2 powder, 0.05-5.0pts.wt. Ag powder and 1-50pts.wt. powder of at least one kind of inorg. material selected from Al2O3, SiO3 and aluminosilicate. CONSTITUTION:Electromotive force taking-out leads 2, 2' are thick-film printed on a stabilized ZrO2 substrate 1 and are baked. Pt films are then formed by electron ray vapor deposition on both faces of the substrate to form Pt electrodes 3, 3'. Gold wires 10, 10' are connected by thermocompression bonding to the leads 2, 2'. The substrate 1 is adhered to the position of the step part 5 of a case 4 and after the inside of the case 4 is divided to two chambers a Pt catalyst 6 deposited on alumina is packed into the chamber on the electrode 3 side and a catalyst mixture 7 is packed into the chamber of the electrode 3'. The powder mixture preped. by mixing 0.05-5.0pts.wt. Ag powder and 1-50pts.wt. powder of at least one kinds of inorg. material selected from Al2O3, SiO2 and aluminosilicate with 100pts.wt. SO2 powder is used for the catalyst 7, by which the dependency on the environmental humidity is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a thin sheet of piezoelectric ceramic good in piezoelectric characteristics by sealing and wrapping the green sheet of the piezoelectric ceramic contg. lead finished with degreasing with a calcined sheet consisting of the same raw material as it, and sealing and enclosing it into a calcination vessel to calcine it. CONSTITUTION:A green sheet of piezoelectric ceramic is obtained by adding and mixing a binder to/with the powder of a raw material for the piezoelectric ceramic contg. lead such as a lead zirconate-lead titanate and molding the mixture into the sheet. This green sheet is heated at the prescribed temp. and degreasing is performed. The green sheet 7 of the piezoelectric ceramic after decreasing which is obtained thereby is sealed and wrapped with a floorplate 6, a spacer 5 and a roof 4. The material obtained by molding the above-mentioned powder of the raw material and calcining it is used for these plates and spacer. This wrapped material is sealed and enclosed into a calcination vessel 2 having a cover 1 and if necessary, ceramic powder contg. lead or its molded form 3 is enclosed together therewith. Then the thin sheet of a sintered material which is free from a warpage and deformation and has high density and good piezoelectric characteristics is obtained by calcining them in this state.

    • PURPOSE:To enable selective detection of a CO gas in an atmosphere, by arranging a catalyst with a large oxidation removing capacity for a combustible gas other than the CO gas made up of a mixed stannic oxide powder consisting of 0.05-5.0pts.wt. of silver powder and 1-50pts.wt. of molecular sieve powder per 100pts.wt. of the stannic oxide and a tungsten oxide powder. CONSTITUTION:This sensor comprises a pair of electrodes on the surface of a base material of an oxygen ion conducting solid electrolyte: one of the electrodes is covered with a catalyst for oxidizing a combustible gas, and the other with a catalyst large in the oxidation removing capacity for the combustible gas other than the CO gas. Then, the catalyst large in the oxidation removing capacity for the combustible gas other than the CO gas is made up of a powder mainly composed of stannic oxide powder mixed with 0.05-5.0pts.wt. of silver powder and 1-50pts.wt. of molecular sieve powder per 100pts.wt. of the stannic oxide powder and a tungsten oxide powder. Thus, a detection element thus obtained is low in the sensitivity to H2 and ethanol, thereby permitting selective detection of the CO gas even when the gas density is about 5,000ppm.
