    • PURPOSE:To connect optical fiber composite electric wires efficiently, easily, and surely by using the first sleeves which detain end parts of electric wires, a connecting member having engaging parts which can be engaged with detaining members of these first sleeves, and the second sleeve which covers the whole of the connecting part. CONSTITUTION:Strands 1 and 1 are stripped into steps to expose aluminium pipes 2 and optical fibers 3 and 3. The first sleeves 5 are press-fitted to stripped end parts. Electric wires W1 and W2 have end faces allowed to face each other with a prescribed length between them and are fixed by a jig 20, and optical fibers 3 and 3 are connected to each other with required lengths. connecting parts 4 and 4 of optical fibers 3 and 3 are connected by an ordinary connecting means. The first sleeves 5 and 5 facing each other are connected by a connecting member 7 which bridges the space between them. The second sleeve 8 which can cover the whole of them is fitted, and the whole of it is press-fitted as a normal straight sleeve, thereby completing the connection. Thus, an unnecessay connection box is omitted to connect optical fibers and electric wires easily and surely.
