    • PURPOSE:To economize and to miniaturize an processor transceiver by providing a monitor pulse addition circuit and a monitor pulse detection circuit among a bus controller, a transmission circuit and a reception circuit so as to make two systems of photodetectors and reception circuits into one system. CONSTITUTION:A monitor pulse addition circuit MA is provided between a bus controller BCi and transmission reception circuits T1, T2, photodetectors PD and reception circuits R having been two systems are reduced into only one system, which is used in common and a monitor pulse detection circuit MD is provided between the reception circuit R and the bus controller BCi. The monitor pulse detection circuit MD checks whether or not monitor pulses mp1, mp2 exist in each frame of a reception signal RD' while its own terminal equipment makes transmission, eliminates the monitor pulses mp1, mp2 from the reception signal RD' and inputs the reception signal RD without the monitor pulses mp1, mp2 to the bus controller BCi. Moreover, when only one monitor pulse exists or no monitor pulse exists, since any fault exists in the signal path of transmission and reception, an error flag EF is inputted to the bus controller BCi.

    • PURPOSE:To continuously detect a pressure and its impressed position by an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:In an optical fiber 2 arranged with going and returning parts, branching optical couplers C1-C3 and combining couplers C4-C6, which correspond to each other, are inserted, these are connected together by main part optical fibers 4a-4c, a Mach- Zehnder interferometer M1 is constructed of the main part optical fiber 4a and an auxiliary part optical fiber 4a', which forms an optical path rounding the main part optical fiber 4b in the following stage of the main part, optical fiber 4a, the same interferometer M2 is constructed of the main part optical fiber 4b and the auxiliary part, optical fiber 4b', and plural interferometers are constructed in the same way to be arranged in series, so that a detection signal is obtained from the optical couplers C4-C6. In this case, the relation among the coherent length W of light source light, the optical fiber optical path length difference H between the main part and the auxiliary part, in each of the interferometers, and the optical path length difference D between the optical path length for the auxiliary part, optical fiber in each of the interferometers and the optical path length rounding from the optical coupler belonging to this interferometer to the auxiliary part optical fiber belonging to the interferometer in the following stage, is H

    • PURPOSE:To detect premonitory symptoms or occurrence of a landslide by a method wherein a part of light passing through an optical fiber is taken out and changes of the ratio of components having polarization planes perpendicular to each other and of attenuation quantity of the light are monitored. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 2 is inputted and propagated in a polarization maintaining type optical fiber 1 which is laid in a place where a landslide should be monitored. A light P branched by an optical fiber coupler 3 is divided into a vertical polarization component Pv and a horizontal polarization component pH, and they are converted to electric signals SV, SH by light quantity detectors 5A, 5B respectively. The ratio of both components, SV/SH is calculated to compute a stroke by an operating means 6. An operating means 7 calculates the addition of both component, SV+SH and when the ratio and the addition are varied, it is judged that the deformation of the fiber 1 is taken place. That is, the stroke is varied in accordance with the deformation of the fiber 1 so that premonitory symptoms of a landslide are detected. In addition, when great deformation is applied thereon, the addition of SV+SH becomes smaller. When the value becomes smaller than a predetermined value, a warning of the occurrence of a landslide is generated.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a landslide automatically and to enable execution of monitoring in a wide range by laying optical fibers in a monitoring place and by catching a change of light propagated through the optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A light 1' and a light 2' emitted from a first light source 1 of high coherence and a second light source 2 of low coherence respectively are synthesized to be superposed mutually by a synthesizer 3 and made to enter a photocoupler 4. By the characteristics of the coupler 4, the light 1' is made to branch by 50% for both of optical fibers 5A and 5B connected onto the output side of the coupler while the light 2' is outputted to the fiber 5A. A light interference detector 7 monitors mutual changes of phases of the lights 1' propagated through the fibers 5A and 5B. Thereby, a slight change of the configuration of the ground before a landslide can be caught. Out of other output lights 1' and 2' of a photocoupler 6, only the light 2' is divided to be taken out by a wave divider 8 and given to a loss detector 9, which monitors a change in the amount of arrival of the light 2'. When the rate of arrival of the light 2' propagated through the fiber 5A or 5B lowers, the detector 9 detects an increase of a loss and can give information on occurrence of the landslide.
