摘要： A portable dock (105) for a portable computing system (205) is disclosed. The portable dock (105) includes a hand carryable housing (105) for attaching to a docking port (110) of a portable computing system (205), wherein the housing (105) is not required to enclose the portable computing system (205). A power supply transformer (325) is also coupled with the housing (105). Additionally, a network connectivity module (335) is coupled with the housing (105), wherein the network connectivity module (335) is a wired network connectivity module (335) when the portable computing device is coupled with the portable dock (105) and wherein the network connectivity module (335) is a wireless network connectivity module (335) when the portable computing system (205) is not coupled with the portable dock (105).
