摘要： A typewriter has a printing head carriage mounted for movement along a rack having two toothings of different pitch, the carriage carrying two pawls each able to cooperate with a respective toothing. A slidable selector lever on the pawl, actuated by an universal bar, enables the selective engagement of one pawl with its rack and disengagement of the other. A second universal bar cooperates with the selected pawl to release it from the rack to control step-by-step movement of the carriage with a selected spacing.

摘要： A rack incorporates two spaced and parallel rows of teeth of different pitches corresponding to the two character spacings at which the type element can print. Two margin scales, one for each row of teeth, are vertically spaced. Two margin stops are mounted free to pivot, under control of a character spacing shift, to engage one or the other of the rows of teeth. A control bar for each margin stop engages and disengages the stop and moves the latter along the scales and teeth to the desired position. When the stop engages the desired row of teeth, it cooperates with the corresponding scale.

摘要： 1530498 Selective printing HERMES PRECISA INTERNATIONAL SA 16 June 1976 [24 June 1975] 24847/76 Heading B6F A snatch roll mechanism in a typewriter includes a principal lever 3, whose pivoted catch 9 is moved by control lever 13 into the trajectory of the shaft projections 7 when the lever 13 is released due to locking lever 20 being pivoted by upward movement of bar 26. The lever 13 and catch 9 have engaging abutments 15, 16 drawn together by spring 14. When the catch 9 is engaged by a projection 7, the lever 3 is pivoted upwards about pin 2. As shown in Fig. 3 the simultaneous upward movement of the control lever 13 is limited by stop 28 and results in the levers 13, 20 re-engaging. Repeated operation of the mechanism is effected by a further upward movement of the bar 26 which prevents this re-engagement.
