摘要： PURPOSE:To properly support a ground with a joint plate and an external ring, and ensure safety for a worker by providing a cutter head with the external ring having a plurality of joint plates in a peripheral direction, and installing a pressing jack device on the external ring for projecting the joint plates toward the front of a cutter blade. CONSTITUTION:After two shield drilling machines are docked to each other after drilling from both sides, the jack device 10 of one of the machines is operated and the joint plate 8 of an external ring 7 is projected toward the front of a cutter blade, thereby being kept in contact with the external ring 7 of the other shield drilling machine. Furthermore, after a ground is improved and facilities behind the shield drilling machines are disassembled, the external ring 7 and the joint plate 8 projected therefrom are welded, and the joint plate 8 and the external ring of the other machine in contact therewith are welded to each other. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to properly support even when the ground of a large bore tunnel exposed to high soil and water pressure with the joint plate 8 and the external ring 7.

Furthermore, after a ground is improved and facilities behind the shield drilling machines are disassembled, the external ring 7 and the joint plate 8 projected therefrom are welded, and the joint plate 8 and the external ring of the other machine in contact therewith are welded to each other. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to ensure the prevention of the collapse of a ground and safety for a worker.

摘要： PURPOSE:To shorten the period of operation and to reduce its cost by a method in which while a small boring machine for a horizontal bore in fitted into the shield boring machine for a vertical bore, after the vertical bore has been bored, the horizontal bore is continuously bored from said vertical bore. CONSTITUTION:While the cutter head 3 of the shield boring machine 1 for a vertical bore is composed of a central cutter disk 3A and an outer peripheral cutter disk 3B, the boring machine 7 provided with the central cutter disk 3A is releasably fitted thereto. Next, after the vertical bore 13 has been bored to a prescribed depth by the boring machine 1, the shield boring machine 7 in the central part is removed, and then the boring machine 7 is set in horizontal direction in the vertical bore 13 and is used as the shield boring machine for a horizontal bore. The horizontal bore is bored following to the boring of the vertical bore 13. Consequently, said operation is simplified and the period of the operation is shortened.
