The hinge assembly includes a flexible strap and biasing element capable of tensioning the flexible strap to maintain the first and second base portions with respect to each other in an open configuration.

The filament tuft and the fabric backing are attached to the rigid base and mechanically pinched between the two interfitted rigid portions of the rigid base. The filament tuft and the fabric backing remain attached and the filament tuft exposed when the rigid base coupling system is attached to the coupling region of the other building element.
