    • The present invention relates to reinforcement yarns coated with a sizing composition comprising at least one silane satisfying the formula: Si(R1)(R2)(R3)(R4) in which: R1, R2 and R3 are chosen from the following atoms or groups: —H (except in the case of R3), —Cl, —O—R5, —O—R6—O—R5, —O—(C═O)—R5, —O—R6—(C═O)—R5, R5 and R6 being chosen from hydrocarbon radicals whose main chain has from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R4═—R7—NHR8 R7 being chosen from branched hydrocarbon radicals whose main chain has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R8 being chosen from the following groups: —H, —R9—NH2, —R10—NH—R9—NH2, R9 being chosen from hydrocarbon radicals containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms or from carbonyls, and R10 being chosen from hydrocarbon radicals whose main chain has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The glass yarns according to the invention are particularly suitable for reinforcing organic materials, the yarns and composites obtained resisting in a corrosive medium.

    • The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a continuous yarn, and the product obtained from such process. A multiplicity of continuous filaments are formed by the mechanical drawing of a multiplicity of streams of molten thermoplastic(s) flowing from the orifices of at least one fiberizing device. A mixture, in the liquid state, is deposited on the surface of at least some of the filaments before they are brought together into at least one yarn. An absorbent mat may be continuously impregnated, with at least some of said mixture being continuously taken up by means of a rotating roller in contact with said mat, and using a sizing roller, said mixture may be deposited on the filaments while they are being drawn.

    • Method of manufacturing a frustoconical bobbin which is obtained by depositing superposed layers of a yarn onto a cylindrical support of longitudinal axis and comprises a base cone having a generatrix, an unwind cone having a generatrix and a main body having a generatrix which is inclined with respect to the axis and joins the two generatrices of the two cones. The method is characterized in that it comprises two rules governing the movement of the yarn guide, a first rule which is used to form part of the base cone, the last layer of yarn deposited according to this first rule going as far as the end of the unwind cone, and a second rule which is used to terminate the said base cone that has been started and, concomitantly, to form the main body and the unwind cone, the first layer of yarn deposited according to the second rule being parallel to the last layer deposited according to the first rule.
