摘要： A system for diagnostic testing may include a meter for performing a test on a sample applied to a test media and a selectively closable container configured to house test media compatible with the meter. The system may also provide mechanisms for removing a meter from a test container and reattaching it to a new one using one of several coding methods that recalibrate the meter for the new container of test strips. Alternatively, the system may include an auto-calibration system where data is provided individually on each individual test medium in a form readable by the test meter. The carried data may include an embedded code relating to data particular to that individual strip. The data is presented so as to be read by a meter associated with the diagnostic test strip in order to avoid manually inputting the information. In addition, the system may further provide mechanisms to reconfigure the meter to perform a new function when it has been determined that a triggering event has occurred.

摘要： A wireless communication device (100) employs a method and apparatus for automatically initiating a communication with a target device. The communication device includes, inter alia, a user interface (115), an acoustic transducer (113), and an acoustic receptor (109). The user interface receives an identification of the target device (e.g., a telephone number) from a user while the communication device is configured in a first physical or mechanical configuration of at least two user-selectable configurations. Responsive to detecting a reconfiguration of the communication device from the first configuration (e.g., closed) into a second configuration (e.g., open), the communication device automatically initiates the communication with the target device, thereby eliminating the need for manual call initiation after the communication device is properly positioned for in-call use.

摘要： A security device may include a body portion and a gate assembly. The body portion is disposed between two substantially parallel, longitudinally extending support members of a peg hook. The gate assembly is operably coupled to the body portion to rotate about an axis of rotation that is substantially perpendicular to a direction of extension of the support members. The gate assembly includes a first gate portion and a second gate portion. The gate assembly has a rest state in which the first gate portion extends substantially in a plane in which the support members lie and the second gate portion extends out of the plane such that movement of a product supported by the peg hook along the support members toward a distal end of the peg hook causes the product to rotate the gate assembly to an extraction position in which the second gate portion is substantially in the plane and the first gate portion is rotated out of the plane.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a security assembly configured to properly secure articles in a retail environment. In some embodiments, the security assembly is configured to secure cylindrical objects, such as baby formula or coffee cans. Additionally, in some embodiments, the security assembly may be adjustable such that differently sized objects may be secured. In an example embodiment, a security device for securing an object with an object perimeter edge is provided. The security device comprises a housing defining an edge lock configured for positioning proximate the object perimeter edge and a locating gap. The security device also comprises at least one cable extending from the security device through the locating gap. The locating gap is configured to secure the at least one cable from substantial lateral movement in at least one direction.
