摘要： A coated article is provided so as to include a solar control coating having an infrared (IR) reflecting layer sandwiched between at least a pair of dielectric layers. The IR reflecting layer includes NbCr and/or NbCrNx in certain embodiments of this invention. The use of such materials as an IR reflecting layer(s) enables the coated article to have good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions, good mechanical performance such as scratch resistance, and/or good color stability (i.e., a low E* value(s)) upon heat treatment (HT). The coated article may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) in certain example embodiments of the invention.

摘要： A head treatable coated article including an infrared (IR) reflecting layer (e.g., of or including Ag), the coated article being able to attain a λE* (glass side) no greater than about 3.5, more preferably no greater than 3.0, and even more preferably no greater than 2.6, following or due to heat treatment (e.g., thermal tempering). Accordingly, low-E (i.e., low emissivity) coated articles of certain embodiments of this invention appear from the glass side thereof visually similar to the naked eye both before and after heat treatment. Good matchability characteristics (i.e., low λE* values) combined with good durability can be achieved by controlling to what extent barrier layer(s) in contact with the IR reflecting layer are nitrided and to what thickness(es) they are sputtered. Optionally, certain embodiments of this invention relate to coated articles that also have high visible transmission and/or good durability. Coated articles herein may be used in the context of insulating glass (IG) window units, vehicle windows, or any other suitable applications. In certain embodiments of this invention, an exemplary layer stack includes: glass/Si 3 N 4 /NiCrN x /Ag/NiCrN x /Si 3 N 4 . Other materials may instead be used without departing from the scope and/or spirit of the instant invention which is a low-E matchable and/or durable product.

摘要： In certain example embodiments, a multi-layer undercoat may include a layer of or including tin oxide on the glass surface and a layer of silicon nitride thereover. Tin oxide is advantageous in that it is relatively durable, and is a low stress material with excellent adhesion to glass. Moreover, the sputtering rate for tin oxide is several times higher than that of silicon nitride. Thus, problems of high cost (due to slow deposition rate) and durability (due to high compressive stress) can be overcome through the use of tin oxide as a bottom portion of the dual layer overcoat. The coated article may or may not be heat treated in different embodiments of the invention.
