摘要： A method is provided for enrolling and authenticating an attendee of an event or activity so that content can be delivered to a mobile device associated with the attendee. The method includes receiving an identifier of a mobile communication device associated with an authorized attendee while the attendee and the mobile communication device are in a venue at which the event or activity takes place. The mobile communication device is registered by storing the identifier in a database of authorized attendees who have entered the venue. Entitlement credentials are communicated to the mobile device that are to be further communicated from the mobile device to a content server when requesting event or activity related content therefrom.

摘要： A method for DTCP to HLS conversion is provided that starts with a standard DTCP Protected Content Packet (PCP) structure. The PCP payload data is chunked at defined chunk boundaries. Each chunk is then appended with a pad to be compatible with HLS. An HLS playlist is then provided using the PCP header with identification of the chunks and a keytag. The chunk is encrypted with a DTCP key calculated by the DTCP standard using: (a) copy control bits; (b) a nonce, and (c) an exchange key ID. Relevant PCP header fields are provided in the keytag for the HLS playlist supporting the transaction that enables calculation of the DTCP content key to enable later decryption of the chunks. The system further provides a revised HLS GET for DLNA to enable trick play seek operations to be performed on the converted HLS.

摘要： An application programming interface (API) allows applications (e.g., applets) at a digital television terminal to recover System Information (SI) from a digital transport stream without regard to the specific SI format. The API abstracts the relevant portions of the SI to provide it in a generic, usable format. The system is suitable for use, e.g., with SI formats including MPEG Program Specific Informatgion (PSI), DVB SI, ATSC Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP), Cable SI such as Digital Video Standard 234, and private SI. In an optional embodiment, asynchronous delivery of SI is provided for SI that is not immediately available in the terminal's memory. Additionally, the API can further abstract the SI so that it is independent of the specific transport stream format (e.g., MPEG-2). Moreover, incremental retrieval of SI data is provided by allowing an application to obtain a small subset of the SI that is available at the terminal, analyze it, and retrieve additional SI if required based on the analysis. The API includes a navigation package (110), a program guide package (120), a program selection/tuning package (130), a descriptor package (140), a utility package (150), a data package (160), and a pipeline package (170).

摘要： A software architecture for managing applications at a television set-top terminal. An Application Programming Interface (API) provides an ITU-T X.731-based mechanism for monitoring and controlling the applications. Applications, such as a grogram guide, stock ticker or the like, are recovered at the terminal according to an associated locator. The applications are registered (205) and installed at the terminal, and a user is notified of the presence of the applications after registration thereof. The API (270) enables running, pausing, resuming and stopping of the applications.
