    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant gland to minimize a pressure loss and transfer a coolant from a feed plenum to a rotor as steam is prevented from leakage. SOLUTION: A steam gland 92 contains a steam inlet feed scroll 94, the scroll feeds steam to a passage 84 through a slot 97, and effects steam cooling of a high heat gas route member. The scroll is formed such that a radius is gradually decreased along a flow of a coolant medium in a peripheral direction so that the speed of a coolant medium is caused to coincide with the surface velocity of a rotor 14. Seals 102, 104, 106, and 108 are arranged at intervals together with extraction ports 96, 98, and 100 in front of the scroll. A pressure in the extraction port 96 and 98 is maintained at a value lower than the pressure of inlet feed steam, leakage of steam passing through respective seals flows in the respective extraction ports for removal. A pressure in the extraction port 100 is maintained at surrounding pressure, and leakage of last steam passing the front seals 102, 104, and 106 and leakage of surrounding air passing through the frontmost seal 108 are mixed together and the mixture is extracted through a steam gland.
