The flash memory device includes a housing enclosing a memory board, a serial port extending from the housing and electrically coupled to the memory board, and a swivel cap rotatably coupled and removably attached to the housing. In this regard, the swivel cap is rotatable between a closed position covering the serial port and an open position exposing the serial port, and the swivel cap is rotatable to at least one removal position enabling a separation of the swivel cap from the housing.

The tape reel assembly has a hub including a cylindrical core, an annular wall, and a web connecting the annular wall to the cylindrical core. The annular wall is co-axially disposed exterior to and separated from the cylindrical core and defines a tape-winding surface. The web extends between the annular wall and the cylindrical core and defines a first surface and a second surface. In this regard, at least one of the first surface and the second surface is shaped to approximate a sinusoid in radial cross-section.

摘要： The invention is directed to techniques to substantially reduce or eliminate detachment of data storage tape from data storage cartridges. A data storage cartridge may include a housing enclosing a spool with data storage tape spooled on the spool. A region of the data storage tape extends from the spool to an opening in the housing. An end of the data storage tape is held at the opening to allow tape drives to grasp the data storage tape and retrieve data stored on the data storage tape. When dropped, the data storage cartridge experiences impact loads. The techniques described herein rotate the spool to generate slack such that the region of data storage tape comprises substantially no tension. In this way, the techniques prevent detachment of the data storage tape from the opening due to the impact loads.
