    • An image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor, a charging unit charging the electrophotographic photoreceptor, an exposing unit exposing the charged electrophotographic photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image, a developing unit developing the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image, and a transferring unit transferring the toner image to a recording medium, but includes no erasing unit erasing the electrophotographic photoreceptor after the toner image is transferred and before the electrographic photoreceptor is charged. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has an undercoat layer and a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate. The undercoat layer has metallic oxide particles and an electron-accepting compound. The electron-accepting compound is included at 1 part by weight to 5 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the metallic oxide particles. A volume resistivity of the undercoat layer is in a range of 1.0×109 Ωm to 1.0×1010 Ωm.
