    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a composite body in which a functional part such as a fixing member is thermally bonded to a lightweight member, wherein the functional part such as the fixing member can be firmly bonded thermally to the lightweight member without forming a through hole in the lightweight member. SOLUTION: The functional part is capable of being thermally bonded to a foam layer of a thermoplastic resin and has a rod-like part. The lightweight member has a single layer or multi-layer structure including at least one thermoplastic resin foam layer. The tip end of the rod like part is inserted inside the thermoplastic resin foam layer by rotating the rod-like part about the center axis and simultaneously pressing the tip end of the rod-like part to the lightweight member to soften or melt the site. Thus, the site is welded so that the functional part such as fixing member can be thermally-bonded to the lightweight member without forming a through-hole in the lightweight member.
