SOLUTION: A socket member 200 as the carrier separator has a socket body 210 extending horizontally and allowing treated water to flow, and a slit member 220 having slits 222 for inhibiting carriers from passing through. The passage sectional areas of the socket body 210 are different at both ends, and a pipe bottom surface 215 is extended so as to be flat. The socket member 220 is disposed in a first cylinder part 211 having a larger passage sectional area. The middle part 210a in the horizontal direction of the socket body 210 has a flange part 213 extending from the peripheral surface of the socket body 210 in the radial direction of the socket body 210.
