    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mounted structure from being settled unevenly, by remaining a perpendicular degree of a pile even when liquefaction occurs.SOLUTION: According to an underground reinforcement construction method, a number of piles are installed in the ground around an existent structure. The method includes a penetration step, a tilting step and a connecting step. In the penetration step, pile members 10 and steel members 12 are installed in the ground as an integrated body by using the perpendicular pile members 10 which are installed at predetermined intervals around the existent structure as piles and one or more orthogonal steel members 12 which are connected to lower portions of the pile members 10 in such a manner that the lower end side thereof is rotatable via a support shaft, and disposed along side portions of the pile members. In the tilting step, the steel member 12 installed together with the pile member 10 in the penetration step is rotated while directing the upper portion side of that steel member toward an upper portion of an adjacent pile member which is installed separately, with a support shaft 14 as a fulcrum. In the connecting step, the upper side of the steel member 12 tilted at a predetermined angle in the tilting step is connected to the upper portion of the adjacent pile member 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce displacement of the ground during construction while executing soil improvement in the ground near a quay wall or a revetment on a beach, at a river mouth or in a lake subject to a water level change due to the tide and thereby preventing a target structure such as the quay wall or the revetment from being adversely affected.SOLUTION: When executing soil improvement of the ground near a quay wall or a revetment on a beach, at a river mouth or in a lake subject to a water level change due to a tide, a soil improvement method with reduced displacement executes construction: at a site away from the sea so as to prevent a target structure 1 such as the quay wall or the revetment from being adversely affected by an excess pore water pressure which occurs during the construction at low tide; and at the site close to the sea at high tide. Thus, the soil improvement method with the reduced displacement reduces displacement of the ground during the construction by changing the construction site in accordance with a water level change due to the tide and thereby preventing the target structure 1 such as the quay wall or the revetment from being adversely affected.
