    • The flexible sealing seat (6) is essentially comprised of circular ring-shaped metallic membranes (9, 10) having approximately identical surfaces. The metallic membranes (9) and (10) are joined to one another on their outside diameter by weld seam (18) and are connected in a tightly sealed manner to the ring (16) on their inside diameter by weld seams (19) and (20). Both membranes (9) and (10) and the ring (16) form a pressure space (11) together. This pressure space (11) in which pressure Ps Is effective, is connected, via a boring (17), to the inner space of the housing (7) in which pressure Pb is effective. The pressure space (11) also comprises a connection to the external shut-off device (8) via the boring (12) and the pipe (13). When the shut-off device (1) is in a completely unpressurized state, the membrane (10) is also in contact, at least on an uninterrupted circular line, with the shut-off element (2).

    • The invention relates to a shut-off valve (17) for shutting off large-diameter ducts. Said valve comprises a housing (1), a shut-off element (19) with a ring (3) and a shut-off disk (2) which are joined together, as well as two housing seats (21) assigned to the shut-off element (19). The aim of the invention is to improve the shut-off disk such that with reduced effort a uniform sealing action is obtained which is independent of the peripheral position at the shut-off element. To this end the invention provides for the two housing seats (21) of the housing (1) to have no contact with the ring (3) or shut-off disk (2) in any operating position, for the distance between the two housing seats (21) and the ring (3) or shut-off disk (2) to remain substantially constant and for it to be possible for an annular gap present between the two housing seats (21) and the ring (3) or the shut-off disk (2) to be filled with an expandable seal (5) which is arranged especially in the housing seats (21).
