    • A diagnostic reagent dispensing bottle which includes a flexible container having an elongated cap mounting neck which is closed by a pierceable or punctureable membrane. A membrane-piercing-and-droplet-dispensing spike is also provided. The spike includes a conically-shaped orifice and a sharp membrane piercing point. The spike is carried by an elongated cap which has a body portion for mounting on the neck of the container. The neck and cap cooperate to position the spike in either (1) a shipping or non-piercing position or (2) a dispensing position wherein the spike pierces the membrane so that the reagent within the container can flow through the spike for dispensing. The cap also includes a cover or closure for closing the bottle which is hingedly connected to the cap body so that the cover is selectively positionable in either an open or closed position. Both detent and thread systems are disclosed for cooperation with the cap and neck to position and guide the spike relative to the pierceable membrane.

    • It has been found that by mounting a suction cover onto the periphery only of a suction interconnection member placed between the suction cover and the recirculating piping, and by carefully placing the hole pattern and size of the individual holes thereon, that a substantial increase in the allowable flow rate gpm for a given safe suction of below five pounds will be produced, as required by the IAPMO standards. Furthermore, it has been found that the suction cover should provide as clear and unobstructed a path to flow, to the internal bore of the suction interconnect member, as possible, and, to this end, the suction cover itself is completely free of any internal flow obstructions, as is the flow path to the internal bore of the suction interconnect.

    • A manifold assembly is provided for monitoring hemodynamic pressures. The manifold assembly comprises a base having first, second and third flush valves mounted thereon. A first three port stopcock is also mounted on the base having one of its ports in fluid flow communication with the first flush valve. One of the ports is in fluid flow communication with an arterial catheter and one of the ports is in fluid flow communication with a pressure monitoring means for determining arterial pressure. A first T-connector is fastened to the second flush valve. A second T-connector is fastened to the third flush valve. A second three port stopcock is mounted on the base with one of its ports in fluid flow communication with the second flush valve through the first T-connector. One of the ports of the second three port stopcock is in fluid flow communication with the third flush valve through the second T-connector.
