    • The present invention relates to one-piece reinforcement elements consisting of an elongate shell-shaped basic body, the inner space of which has reinforcement ribs which are fixedly connected to the basic body, the reinforcement ribs consisting of plastic injection-molded on and their connection to the basic body taking place at discrete connection points via perforations in the basic body through which the plastic passes and extends over the surfaces of the perforations, and of a rigid structure reinforcement which is appended from the same plastic, by means of the same injection-molded operation, at at least one end of the basic body and which corresponds essentially to the form of the cross section of the hollow profile to be reinforced at this point of a body, an expandable adhesive material being applied over a portion of the surface of the rigid structure reinforcement and of the elongate shell-shaped basic body, the form of the rigid structure reinforcement and of the elongate basic body and also the quantity and distribution of the expandable adhesive being selected such that the adhesive material, during expansion, does not touch the inner surface of the outer panel of the body cavity to be reinforced and touches and adheres to at least part of the other inner walls of the body cavity to be reinforced, to the production of these and to their use.

    • A composite structural article, of preferably metal and thermoplastic material is described. The composite structural article comprises: (a) at least one reinforcing element (2) having sized openings (20); and (b) at least three profiled sections (1, 3, 4). A portion of each profiled section (1, 3, 4) is connected interlockingly with a portion of the reinforcing element (2). At least two of the profiled sections (1, 3, 4) have terminal portions each having a projecting region (5) that engages interlockingly with the sized openings (20) of the reinforcing element (2), such that a portion of the reinforcing element (2) surrounds at least partially the projecting regions (5). The profiled sections (1, 3, 4) are further joined to the reinforcing element (2) by means of thermoplastic material (11, 13) injected in the region of each interlocking connection with the reinforcing element (2). In addition, one of the profiled sections (3) is in at least one of: (i) an abutting relationship with at least two of the profiled sections (1, 4); and (ii) an interlocking relationship with at least two of said profiled sections (1, 4).     • An article of manufacture that includes a lye tank and an external support structure attached thereto is described. The lye tank has a base having an aperture and sidewalls extending upwardly there from, and an open end. The lye tank may be fabricated from metal and/or plastic. The external support structure includes: (i) at least one bowl-shaped profile member having a base and sidewalls and an interior space; (ii) a plurality of plastic reinforcing ribs located fixedly within the interior space of the bowl-shaped member; and (iii) a connecting member, having an opening, which is connected to the first end of the bowl-shaped member by means of positive and/or material connections. The lye tank and the external support structure are connected together such that aperture of base of tank is aligned with opening of connecting member.
