    • An integrated radio telecommunications network which integrates an ANSI-41 circuit switched network and a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) packet data network to support a mobile station which operates in both the ANSI-41 network and the GPRS network. An interworking function interfaces a mobile switching center (MSC) in the ANSI-41 network with a serving GPRS switching node (SGSN) in the GPRS network by mapping circuit switched signaling utilized by the MSC into GPRS packet switched signaling utilized by the SGSN, and mapping GPRS packet switched signaling into circuit switched signaling. An interworking GPRS base station controller interfaces the SGSN with a GPRS/ANSI-136 base station which supports both ANSI-136 operations and GPRS operations. The interworking GPRS base station controller adapts the traffic signaling format utilized by the SGSN into an air interface traffic signaling format utilized by the GPRS/ANSI-136 base station. An authentication center interface passes the authentication state of the mobile station between an ANSI-41 home location register/authentication center (HLR/AC) in the ANSI-41 network, and a GPRS home location register/authentication center (HLR/AUC) in the GPRS network.

    • Processing of point of sale (“POS”) redemptions via a “tap” of a contactless device comprises a POS data collector that facilitates a connection with a contactless device. A merchant scans items for purchase using a POS scanner, which captures product identification information. The POS scanner forwards the product identification information to a POS terminal. The POS data collector intercepts the product identification information between the POS scanner and the POS terminal. A user taps the contactless device in the POS data collector's radio frequency field, and a communication channel is established between the contactless device and the POS data collector. The POS data collector identifies the user via the contactless device and identifies coupons, merchant offers, and other value-added services to redeem with the transaction. The POS data collector forwards this information to the POS terminal, the redemptions are applied to the transaction, and the communication is terminated.

    • Systems and methods for automating database table and application data collection into one process to facilitate remote diagnostics of a computer problem are disclosed. A customized batch file is created by a remote support technician that can be run on a user computer that has the actual data to be gathered for the computer problem to be diagnosed. An output data file is created by the running batch file compiling problem diagnosis data from the user computer. The data file can then be viewed via a single viewing process that displays the application and database data of the data file through a single GUI and allows easy viewing manipulation of that data through the GUI. Because the database table data may be saved in a string delimited format with table field names saved with it, the database program is not needed in order to view the tables.

    • A ball-activated mechanism adapted to be incorporated in a drillstring and to control the activation, and de-activation of a downhole tool. Upon launch of a second activation ball, the latching device undergoes return movement and returns the ball seat to its first position and the actuator moves to deactivate the downhole tool.
