    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general and flexible integrated circuit for an optoelectronic transceiver using a simple and clear memory map architecture and a simple serial communication mechanism.
      SOLUTION: This circuit includes: a memory comprising one or more memory arrays for storing information related to a transceiver; analog-to-digital converter circuitry for receiving a plurality of analog signals from a laser transmitter and a photodiode receiver, converting the received analog signals into digital values and storing the digital values into predefined locations within the memory; a control circuit configured so as to generate a control signal for controlling operation of the laser transmitter in accordance with the one or more values stored in the memory; an interface for reading from and writing to locations within the memory; and a comparison logic circuit for comparing the digital values with limit values, generating flag values on the basis of the limit values and storing the flag values in predefined locations within the memory.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide in general a flexible integrated circuit for a photoelectron tranceiver, using a simple and clear memory map architecture, and to provide a simple serial communication device.
      SOLUTION: The circuit includes one or two or more memory arrays for storing information relevant to a tranceiver, a laser transmitter and a photodiode receiver, changing this analog signal received into a digital value, an analog-to-digital conversion circuit for storing this digital value to a predetermined region in the memory, a control circuit configured so that a control signal is generated for controlling operation of the laser transmitter and following to one or more values stored by the memory, an interface for reading and writing to the region inside the memory, and a comparison logic circuit for storing this flag value to the predetermined region in the memory, and comparing the digital value with the threshold and generating a flag value based on this threshold.

    • Methods and systems for detecting counterfeit optical communications products are described. An exemplary system includes a host device and a fiber optic component, such as an optical transceiver. The optical transceiver may include a TOSA, a ROSA, a controller circuit, and a memory module. The controller circuit may be operably connected to the TOSA, the ROSA, and the memory module. The host device may send a set of challenge data to the optical transceiver. The optical transceiver may respond with a data set encrypted by the controller circuit using a secret key stored in the memory module. The encrypted response data set may be evaluated to determine whether the optical transceiver is authenticate.
