    • A split architecture wireless access point (SAAP) extends a traditional wireless access point (TRAP) network by selectively interfacing or isolating a SAAP network with a deployed TRAP of the TRAP wireless network. The SAAP has a split architecture that interfaces with the TRAP as a client of the TRAP network and supports the SAAP network as a router. For instance, a client module communicates as a client of the TRAP wireless network over a TRAP channel and a router module routes information between clients of the SAAP network over a SAAP channel, the SAAP wireless network to advantageously benefit streaming of audiovisual information and other usages of the TRAP and SAAP wireless networks. A control module selectively allows communication between the router and client modules to support communication between information handling systems associated with the SAAP wireless network and the TRAP wireless network.

    • An improved system and method for predicting streaming media performance through the use of real-time wireless network performance measurements and statistical analysis, combined with a generalized methodology for comparing digital media quality before and after transmission. Network performance parameters of a benchmark media stream, such as throughput and signal strength, are measured for predetermined wireless network ranges and correlated to the introduction of various artifacts such as but not limited to, blurring, blockiness, and jerkiness, affecting streaming video quality. In various embodiments of the invention, network throughput and signal strength measurements of a received media stream can be processed by an algorithm and correlated to previously collected benchmark measurements to predict the resulting audio and video quality as experienced by a user.

    • A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for automatically allocating resources to a virtual machine. Expected workload profile data and application utilization data corresponding to a software application associated with a virtual machine (VM) is collected by an application profiling agent. Resource utilization data corresponding to the utilization of resources associated with the execution of the software application is collected by a system resource monitor. The expected workload profile data, the application utilization data, and the resource utilization data are then processed to determine a virtual machine workload class, which is then used to determine a corresponding VM policy. Data associated with the VM policy then processed to generate VM resource allocation instructions, which are in turn processed to provision the VM.

Each setting is identified as a user setting or a platform setting. The user settings are stored in a personalization virtual object with the user. Platform settings are stored separately from the personalization virtual object. Software for personalizing a device provided on a computer readable medium is disclosed herein. The software comprises a code for execution on a central processing unit operable to configure a plurality of settings associated with a device by a user. The software identifies each setting as a user setting or a platform setting. The user settings are stored in a personalization virtual object associated with the user, and the platform settings are stored separately from the personalization virtual object.
