    • PURPOSE: To prevent damage of an optical fiber core wire, so as to achieve simplification of the ferrule fixing operation by setting the back surface of an optical connector ferrule and the flange lower surface through a process of bring them in contact with the reference surface and the upper surface of a receiving stand, advancing clamp blocks, and bring the right-angled surface into contact with the front surface and the upper surface of the ferrule. CONSTITUTION: A frame body 29 is laid, a ferrule 11 is inserted into a rectangular hole 23 on the upper surface, and the lower surface of a flange part 11a is brought in contact with the upper surface 25 of a receiving stand 21. The frame body 29 is raised until a both leg part upper surface 49 is bumped against a first stop surface 45, and clamp blocks 39 are advanced by rotating a screw shaft 35 by a knob 37. The clamp blocks 39 are diagonally advanced toward the ferrule 11 from above, and a right-angled surface 41 of the clamp block 39 is brought in contact with the front surface and the upper surface of the ferrule 11, so as to clamp the ferrule 11. The ferrule 11 back surface is brought in contact with a reference surface 27 and clamped by the angle to be specified by the reference surface 27.

    • PURPOSE:To attain a mass production of optical connectors with high precision, by aligning plural optical fibers after stripping off the coat at the edge of each optical fiber, inserting the optical fibers into the hole of a holding plate along with pins at both sides and then injecting plastic while the optical fiber is held between two metallic dies. CONSTITUTION:Two metallic dies 1A and 1B have cavities 2a and 2b and flat square grooves 7a and 7b are formed at the counter faces 3a and 3b at the cable side. At the same time, the square grooves 4a and 4b are formed, and semicircular recesses 5a, 6a, 5b and 6b are formed at both sides of the grooves 4a and 4b to serve as pins. A plastic injecting port 8 is formed to the die 1A. The terminal of an optical cable 4 is processed and an optical fiber 15i is inserted into a hole 11i of a holding plate 9. The pins 16a and 16b are put into the holes 10a and 10b at both ends of the hole 11i, and the fiber 15i is held between the dies 1A and 1B. Under such conditions, the viscous plastic is injected 8. The plastic is taken out after it is hardened, and the fiber 15i is cut and polished at the face of the plate 9. Then the pins 16a and 16b are pulled out to be used as male screws. In such a way, the coincidence is obtained with high precision between axial cores for optical connectors in a mass production.
