摘要： PURPOSE:To enable the extension of the usable cable length with a higher weight by using a high strength titanium wire or high strength titanium alloy wire specifying the tensile strength as a metal wire armour. CONSTITUTION:As an armour metal wire, a processed and reinforced high strength titanium wire and titanium alloy wire having a tensile strength of 120kgf/mm or more are used. The use of such high strength titanium wire or high strength titanium alloy wire processed and reinforced by cool wire drawing as the armour metal wire can solve the enlargement of size of the winding device due to the excessive weight, the limitation of usable cable length due to the weight ratio strength deficiency, the short corrosion resisting life due to the corrosion resistance deficiency, and the observation environmental pollution, and afford a light weight and more lengthy armour cable having high weight ratio strength and excellent corrosion resistance.

摘要： PURPOSE:To avoid overcooling the surface of a wire rod and obtain a wire rod having mechanical properties similar to those of a lead-patened material by a method wherein a hot rolled wire rod of medium- or high-carbon steel is cooled rapidly under specified conditions and then cooled with an inorganic heat-insulating material adhered thereto. CONSTITUTION:Steel containing 0.25-1.0% of C, not more than 1.5% of Mn and the like is hot rolled into the wire rod, which is then cooled rapidly from an austenite temperature range to a temperature ranging from a temperature slightly higher than Ms point to 650 deg.C, at cooling rate of not less than 20 deg.C/sec. Then, the heat- insulating material consisting mainly of an inorganic white powder such as Al2O3 or one containing pulverulent Al and an igniter as main constituents is adhered to the surface of the wire rod, and the latter is cooled while preventing the surface from being overcooled. Accordingly, martensite or the like is prevented from being generated at the surface layer, while the temperature of the wire rod is equalized in the longitudinal direction, so that a wire rod excellent in mechanical properties can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a zinc recovering cation exchange resin, in recovery of metal ions in a washing soln. from a zinc electroplating process with the resin, by feeding part of a plating bath to a chelating ion exchange resin to selectively remove iron ions. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet 8 is electroplated with zinc in zinc sulfate bath 11 in zinc electroplating tank 3 and fed to washing tank 4 through wringer rolls 7. Bath 11 contg. dissolved iron ions is quantitatively taken out through pipe 9 and fed to chelating ion exchange resin 10 for selectively adsorbing iron ions, and the resulting iron ion-free bath is returned to tank 3 through return pipe 12. When resin 15 is satd. with cations, an aq. soln. of sulfuric acid is fed from regenerating agent tank 13', and the yielded zinc ion-contg. soln. is returned to tank 3 through pipe 19.

Voltage from the power source 13 is applied to both anodes and cathodes for electrolysis to uniformly precipitate and electrodeposit MnO2 on each of the anodes 12. The potential difference between the point B at the center of the anodes 12 and A is restricted below 6.OV, where the B has the maximum electrolyte potential difference from the cathode 11 and the A the minimum. Such potential condition limits the variations of the deposition within 10%, thereby providing MnO2 catalyst having uniformly distributed MnO2 on the anode substrates.

摘要： PURPOSE:In electroosmosis dehydration, voltage is applied and then turned off for a predetermined period of time and then reapplied. This voltage on-off process is repeated one or more times thereby to perform effective hydration with reduced electric power and energy. CONSTITUTION:Hydrous sludge 12 in a hopper 11 is fed at a constant rate onto a cathodic filter cloth 15, which is connected to a direct current source through an electric conductive cathode roll 21. The cathode 15 driven by rolls 20 carries the sludge 12, which advances through anodic filter weds 16 and a filter web 22 to be dehydrated, and the sludge 12 transforms into dehydrated sludge 23. The anodic 16 and cathodic 15 filter webs consist of synthetic fiber and stainless steel mesh, and supplied with electricity through the positive 14 and negative 21 electric conductive rolls respectively. When the sludge is passing through the filter 22, no electricity is applied, the period of which should be decided by the relation d/2 seconds or longer, where d represents dried sludge thickness.

摘要： PURPOSE:To treat exhaust gas described in the title inexpensively through repeated use of catalyst, by treating exhaust gas contg. SOx, NOx with the catalyst consisting of manganese oxide in the presence of NH3, and by reactivating simply the catalyst with declined activity. CONSTITUTION:Porous, shaped support is immersed into an aq. soln. of MnSO4, Mn(NO3)2, or MnCl2 etc. so as to be impregnated with the manganese cpd., then the support is dipped into alkali soln. toform Mn(OH)2. Then the support is placed in exhaust gas and is heated with the exhaust gas which is at 100-300 deg.C, hereby Mn(OH)2 is converted to manganese oxide. By use of the catalyst, the exhaust gas contg. NOx, SOx is treated in the presence of NH3 at 180-250 deg.C. By this means NOx is reduced to harmless N2, and SOx reacts with MnOx to form MnSOx which is removed. The catalyst deactivated by SOx is withdrawn and immersed into alkali soln. to form Mn(OH)2, which is converted to MnOx in exhaust gas, thus it is regenerated.
