摘要： A semiconductor laser module includes a single semiconductor laser device having a first light emitting stripe and at least one other light emitting stripe whi ch are aligned to respectively emit a first laser beam and at least one other laser beam throu gh one edge surface It also includes a first lens positioned so that the first laser beam and th e at least one other laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser device are incident thereon, the first lens configured to separate the first laser beam and the at least one other laser beam. A beam synthesizing member is included and has a first input part on which the firs t laser beam is incident, at least one other input part on which the at least one other lase r beam is incident, and an output part from which the first laser beam emerging from the first input part and the at least one other laser beam emerging from theat least one other input part are multiplexed and emitted as a multiplexed laser beam. An optical fiber is positioned to receive the multiplexed laser beam therein.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser element that can be manufactured easily, can be stabilized in optical characteristic, such as the wavelength, etc., of laser light, can obtain a high gain, and is suitable for the light sources of optical amplifiers, and to provide a semiconductor laser module and an optical amplifier using the module. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser element 86 has first and second stripes 9 and 10 formed at intervals and respectively provided with diffraction gratings and emits first and second layer light rays K1 and K2 respectively from the end faces of the stripes 9 and 10. The semiconductor laser module has the laser element 86, a first lens 4 to which the laser light rays K1 and K2 emitted from the laser element 86 are made incident and which converges the laser light rays K1 and K2 to different focal points, and a half-wave plate 6 which rotates the plane of polarization of the first laser light ray K1 by 90°. The module also has a polarized wave synthesizing member 7 which synthesizes the first and the second laser light rays K1 and K2 and outputs a synthesized laser light ray when the laser light rays K1 and K2 are made incident to the member 7 and an optical fiber 8 which receives the synthesized laser light ray emitted from the member 7 and sends out the laser light ray to the outside. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which optical components constituting the optical module are easily and accurately aligned and properties after assembling are stable, and a method for manufacturing the optical module. SOLUTION: A flexible coil member 14 as a position adjusting means is interposed between a housing 10 and a collimator 12. After the housing 10 and the collimator 12 are joined to the coil member 14, the coil member 14 is slightly moved and aligned so as to match the center line of the housing 10 with an optical axis of the collimator 12. Fused solder 18 adheres to each junction surface, fills a gap around a location where the housing 10 and the collimator 12 contact a wire 16, and also wholly adheres to a part except the junction surface of the coil member 14. The solder 18 is solidified and the junction surfaces adhere to each other, and also, the flexible coil member 14 is hardened turned to a rigid body.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deviation of the optical axis of a collimator due to variation in the volume of solder material, which occurs in the solidification process of solder. SOLUTION: An optical module is formed by inserting the tip parts of collimators 2a and 2b into both end parts of a cylindrical casing 3, respectively, fixing the tip parts of the collimators 2a and 2b on the inner wall face of the casing 3 with solder. In the fixing process with soldering, the optical axes of the collimators 2a and 2b are kept coincident with each other by clamping and fixing the collimators 2a and 2b with a clamping member 12, a solder material 13 is supplied from a solder feeding port 8 of the casing 3 and melted by being heated in a state that the casing 3 is not clamped but kept free, and then the solder material 13 existing between each of the tip parts of the collimators 2a and 2b and the inner wall face of the casing 3 is cooled and solidified. The casing 3 is moved by the variation in the volume due to a rapid contraction of the solder material 13 during the solidifying process, thus the contraction force is released. The deviation of the optical axes of the collimators 2a and 2b due to the contraction force is suppressed.
