A main body (15, 115, 171) is obtained with at least a cassette shutter closing mechanism (147) for a cassette shutter (27, 127) and a frame counter mechanism (152). A closing mechanism setting device (180, 181, 189, 198) sets the cassette shutter closing mechanism in the shutter opening position. A counter setting device (253, 259, 270, 277) sets the frame counter mechanism in an initial position thereof. The frame counter mechanism, when in the initial position, designates an initial one of the indicia in the frame counter mechanism. Furthermore, an inspection line (380) inspects operation of the mechanical parts (147, 152, 158). A cleaning line (383) cleans at least a viewfinder lens (132). A conveyor (385) conveys the lens-fitted photo film unit between the inspection line and the cleaning line.

    • A lens inspector has an objective lens composed by front and rear lenses, a two-dimensional image sensor and an image forming lens for forming a point image of light passing through the objective lens. A lens to be inspected is disposed between a light source and an object focal point of the objective lens. The light source projects a light bundle onto the test lens in parallel with the optical axis of the objective lens, and the front lens of the objective lens is moved along the optical axis so as to shift the object focal point of the objective lens stepwise into a plurality of positions within a predetermined range including a normal focal point of the test lens therein. Brightness data of a point image formed on the two-dimensional image sensor is detected for each shift positions of the objective lens, and is used for judgment as to whether an actual focal point of the test lens is within a proper range.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a film unit with lens whose optical system inspecting time is fully secured. CONSTITUTION:A unit main body is constituted of a main body part 9, unexposed film 10 and a cartridge 11 housed in the main body part 9, and further a front cover 12 and a rear cover 13 with which the part 9 is covered from front and rear sides. An exposure unit 16 for exposing the film 10 is fixed on the front surface of the main body part, and further covered with the front cover 12. When a shutter blade provided in the unit 16 is opened/closed, a photographing luminous flux passing through a photographing aperture 19 exposes the film 10 through a photographing lens 4 and the unit 16. An aperture 40 is formed on a shutter cover 21 with which a shutter blade is covered, and further a shutter operation aperture 41 is provided at a position opposed to the aperture 40 on the front surface of the front cover 12, so that the opening/ closing operation of the shutter blade is executed even in a state where the front cover 12 is fixed on the main body part and the shutter is released just for a desired time.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect periodical defects accurately.
      SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion signal of a light receiver 12 is binarized by an AGC circuit 28 and a binarization circuit 29. The binarization signal is counted based on a clock from a reference clock generation circuit 35, thus judging whether the defect is a width defect having length in a width direction or not. A periodical defect detection section 27 judges whether the width defect occurs periodically or not. First, the width defect is detected, and then its periodicity is judged, thus excluding noise due to fine defects and accurately judging periodical width defects.
