    • In an image recorder, the liquid injection apparatus uniformly applies an image forming solvent - such as water - as a line on a photosensitive material. A nozzle plate 322 with a line of holes 324 is arranged on a portion of an injection tank 312 arranged, in use, opposite a photosensitive material. Thin elastic members 328 are arranged between the upper portions of the side walls 312B of the injection tank 312 and the ends of the nozzle plate 322 perpendicular to the line of holes. In addition, an elastic adhesive seals the gap between the side wall 312B and the elastic member 328. Each of the other two sides of the nozzle plate 322 is supported by its side wall 312B and connected to one side of a lever plate 320, the opposite side of which is adhered to the upper surfaces of piezoelectric elements 326. Actuation of the elements extends them and so causes the lever plates 320 to pivot. This bends the nozzle plate into a concave shape, thus pressing the row of holes 324 into the liquid in the tank 312, with consequent extrusion of the liquid.

    • A liquid injection apparatus uniformly applies a liquid on a material at one time in the form of a line. A nozzle plate is arranged on a portion opposing a photosensitive material of an injection tank. A plurality of nozzle holes are arranged in the nozzle plate in the form of a line. Thin elastic members are arranged between the upper portions of the side walls of the injection tank and the left and right ends of the nozzle plate which are end portions of the nozzle plate in the direction in which the nozzle holes are arranged in the form of a line. In addition, an elastic adhesive is applied to bury a gap between the side wall and the elastic member. Each of the upper and lower end portions of the nozzle plate is supported by the side wall and connected to one end portion of a lever plate. The other end portion of the lever plate is adhered to the upper surface of a piezoelectric element to connect the piezoelectric element to the lever plate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a droplet discharging device capable of detecting the sound generated at discharging the droplet and of directly detecting the abnormal discharge of the droplet.
      SOLUTION: A nozzle plate 51A is provided with a hollow section 130, etc. in the vicinity of a nozzle 51 and has a beam-structure with the thickness of a part of the nozzle plate getting thinner. The sound generated at the time of the ink-droplet discharged from the nozzle 51 dividing from a meniscus is made resonated with the beam structure and amplified, then the sound can be efficiently transferred to the sound detecting sensor installed in a printing head. According to detecting the sound by the above way, the failure such as non-discharging of the ink-droplet to be discharged from the nozzle 51 or its abnormal-discharge can be recognized. The inspecting sensor may be used together with a discharge piezoelectric element or be provided with a membrane-like pressure sensor. If the pressure sensor for detecting the sound with excellent acoustic-matching is provided, the sound can be detected with high sensitivity.

A cap 30 is arranged at an opening 24a at the upper end of the atmospheric communication path 24 when necessary and ON/OFF control over color display is performed by closing or not closing the opening part 24a with a cap 30 by using an ink jet head 140 provided outside a part where the color display is performed.
