摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake cum jack device for vertical shaft rotary machine not requiring provision of decompression apparatus on a working fluid supply system for braking. SOLUTION: This brake cum jack device is equipped with a working part 11 consisting of a cylinder 2, piston 3, piston collar 4, and supply passages 18 and 19 for supplying a working fluid 5. The piston 3 is furnished with a circular main portion 31 having an outside diameter the same as conventional and provided with an aeration hole 34 and a circular aux. portion 32 having an outside diameter smaller than the main portion 31. The piston collar 4 is made in a ring shape having a periphery of the same diameter as the outside diameter of the main portion 31 and an inner surface part of the same diameter as the outside diameter of the aux. portion 32. The cylinder 2 consists of a major diameter portion and a minor diameteric portion concentrical to each other, the former being fitted to the main portion 31 and the piston collar 4 and the latter being fitted to the aux. portion 32, and the supply passage 19 is laid on the bottom of the minor diameteric portion while the passage 18 is laid on the bottom of the major diameteric portion.
