    • The invention relates to a method for optimizing the throughput when processing images from X-ray computer tomographies (CT). The proposed method for handling or processing image data from individual images or consecutive images is based on a substantially punctiform radiation source (70), by which an object (1) to be captured or reconstructed is depicted on a flat detector (80) readable as a screen. A plurality of processing strips (T1, T2) of the image are read at the detector (80), wherein each strip (T1, T2) takes up an image portion. The image portion is associated by a respectively associated volume layer (V1, V2) of the object (10) with respect to the radiation path of the radiation source (70). A respective image data portion in a respective processing strip (T2) is fed to a processing unit (E2).
