    • A slit lamp microscope is of the type having an illumination optical system for illuminating the eye to be examined, an observation optical system for observing the illuminated eye to be examined and a photographing unit. The slit lamp microscope comprises exposure control unit for controlling exposure at the time of photographing, a photographing conditions designation arrangement for designating at the time of photographing at least the designation of a part to the eye to be photographed and conditions regarding system of photographing, and an optimal exposure calculation unit for calculating an optimal exposure in accordance with the designated photographing conditions. The exposure control apparatus controls the exposure in accordance with the value of exposure calculated by the optimal exposure calculation unit when the photographing conditions are designated by the photographing conditions designation means.

    • This invention provides a microscope for operation which can form a black point for protecting a patient's retina even when the retina part is not at the center of the field of view of the microscope. The microscope for operation has an X-Y stage for moving the microscope body, a CCD camera for obtaining an image in the field of view of the microscope, a liquid crystal device provided with a light transmitting surface transmitting illuminating light therethrough and comprised of display dots disposed in the form of a matrix, and a control device for controlling and driving the liquid crystal device. The control device analyzes the image in the field of view of the microscope obtained by the CCD camera to thereby recognize the position of the retina part of an eye to be examined, and the display dots positioned in that area on the light transmitting surface of the liquid crystal device which has been determined correspondingly to the recognized position are selectively colored to thereby constitute a black point filter.

    • An electronic device includes a carriage on which an image sensor is mounted, a motor that drives the carriage, and servo-control-containing printed matter provided in one or more detection areas of the image sensor or one or more independently provided optical sensors. The servo control information is used for speed control and initial position detection of the carriage. A servo controller performs the servo control on the motor via a motor driver based on the read servo control information. Printed matter for speed control may be provided in one area and printed matter for initial position detection in another. Servo control information on the printed matter may be read using a dummy pixel region of the image sensor.
