摘要： A circuit breaker fitted with an exhaust arc gas manifold arranged over ventilation slots of the circuit breaker and disposed at a line end thereof to redirect the arc exhaust gases exiting the ventilation slots. The exhaust arc gas manifold is fixedly attached to the circuit breaker and includes: an electrically-insulated body having an upper wall and a lower wall joined by a back wall extending generally perpendicular to the upper and lower walls; a pair of electrically-insulated walls extending generally perpendicular from the back wall between the upper and lower walls defining a first section, a second section, and a third section; the first section is closed at a bottom, back and both sides thereof; the second section is closed at a top, bottom and both sides thereof; the third section closed at a bottom, back and both sides thereof; and the upper wall configured to attach the electrically-insulated body to one end of the circuit breaker, wherein exhaust arc gas is emitted from a top of the first and third sections and from a back of said second section.

摘要： A handle operating assembly suitable for use with an electric disconnect switch assembly having a circuit breaker. The handle operating assembly comprises a handle operator extending outward from the electric disconnect switch and movable between an ON and an OFF position and a face plate having a slot therein. The handle operator slidably moves in the slot between the OFF position and the ON position. The face plate mounts to the electric disconnect switch assembly and is positionable between a first position to prevent access to the circuit breaker and a second position to provide access to the circuit breaker. The handle operating assembly provides ease of accessibility to the electrical disconnect switch and ease of assembly.

摘要： A system and method are provided for coordinating the installation and removal a motor control center subunit with the power connection and interruption thereof. A system of interlocks and indicators causes an operator to install a motor control center subunit into a motor control center, and connect supply and control power thereto, in a particular order. Once installed, a test module system included with the subunit provides for pass-through connection of signals from equipment test points. The test module can thus relay internal conditions of the subunit to the operator without a need for disengaging or opening the subunit.

The MCC includes an enclosure, an electrical switching apparatus, such as a circuit breaker, which is removably coupled to the enclosure, and at least one subunit. The bus assembly includes a horizontal bus, a number of vertical buses, and a number of short circuit protective devices (SCPDs), such as fuses or circuit breakers. The horizontal bus is electrically connected to the circuit breaker, each vertical bus electrically connects a corresponding subunit to the horizontal bus, and each SCPD is disposed between the horizontal bus and a corresponding one of the vertical buses. The SCPDs reduce the peak current level and arc flash energy experienced by the subunits, and relatively quickly clear the arcing event.

摘要： A communication system is provided for a motor control center. The motor control center includes an enclosure and a plurality of subunits. The enclosure comprises a framework for dividing the enclosure into a plurality of compartments. The subunits are removably disposed within the compartments. The communication system includes a mounting bracket fixedly attached to the framework, within a corresponding one of the compartments, and a communication module mounted on the mounting bracket. The communication module includes a housing and a number of features such as, for example and without limitation, a DIP switch and electrical connector(s), disposed on the housing. Accordingly, when the subunit is removed from the compartment, the communication module remains, fixed to the enclosure framework. The mounting bracket includes a hinge that allows the communication module to pivot with respect to the compartment to provide access to the features.
