摘要： A hand actuated biopsy device comprises a vacuum generation mechanism and a tissue cutting mechanism manually actuated by a trigger (28) of the hand actuated biopsy device. Hand manipulation or actuation of the trigger is used to power a vacuum pump (310) to generate vacuum and to power the tissue cutting mechanism. The hand actuated biopsy device has a tissue piercing needle (100) with a tissue receiving aperture (105). A tissue cutter (130) translates and rotates within the needle and is powered by actuations of the trigger. When the needle is placed into tissue and the trigger is actuated to power the vacuum pump and the tissue cutter, tissue is drawn into the tissue receiving aperture and severed by the hand powered cutter. A tissue collection chamber (150) can be attached to the hand actuated biopsy device to receive severed tissue samples within.

摘要： A biopsy device includes a body having a cannula (12), a cutter (50) positioned at least partly within the cannula, a tissue collection chamber (100), and a vacuum source (116). In one example, the biopsy device includes a cutter loader (60) for rotating the cutter into a loaded position (e.g., open position). A trigger (94) is engaged with a portion of the cutter loader and may be activated to allow the cutter to rotate back to a closed position. During this rotation, the cutter severs a tissue sample, which may thereafter be drawn through the cutter lumen into the tissue collection chamber under the influence of a vacuum created by the vacuum source. The vacuum source includes a piston configured to be operated by squeezing a scissors grip (160). A user may apply a single stroke or successive strokes to the piston to produce the vacuum.

摘要： A biopsy device comprises a body and a needle extending distally from the body. The needle comprises a cannula and a tissue piercing tip that is unitary with the cannula. The tissue piercing tip may be formed by compressing the distal end of the cannula to put two distal cannula portions in apposition with each other. One of the apposed distal cannula portions may be removed. The remaining distal cannula portion may be formed into a blade of the tissue piercing tip, A cutter may be moved relative to the needle to sever samples from tissue protruding through a transverse aperture formed in the cannula. A gap may be provided between the exterior of the cutter and the interior of the cannula, permitting the cutter to be distally vented while a proximal vacuum is communicated to the cutter to transport severed tissue samples proximally through the cutter.

摘要： A tissue retrieval device (10) includes an introducer tube (20) and a tissue retrieval bag (60). The introducer tube is insertable into a patient through a trocar. The bag may be selectively exposed at the distal end of the introducer tube, receive a tissue specimen, and be withdrawn from the patient. The bag includes a plurality of folds (110) allowing the bag to transition from a folded configuration to an unfolded configuration. The folds may extend along a length of the bag transverse to the introducer tube; or along a length of the bag parallel to the introducer tube. The folds may extend about a perimeter of the bag, such as a circumference of the bag, and may be spaced apart along a length of the bag transverse to the introducer tube. The folds may be formed by petals that provide the bag with a generally spherical configuration when the bag is unfolded.

摘要： A specimen retrieval instrument comprises a tubular member, a resilient member, and a retrieval bag. The resilient member is associated with a distal end of the tubular member. The bag is secured to the resilient member. The resilient member is compressible such that the resilient member and bag fit within a hollow interior portion of the tubular member. A rod may advance the resilient member and bag out of the tubular member. Alternatively, the tubular member may comprise a sheath that is retractable to reveal the resilient member and bag. The resilient member may have a hoop, spiral, or rolled strip configuration. The resilient member may alternatively comprise telescoping arms. The resilient member opens the bag when the resilient member and bag are deployed relative to the tubular member. The targeting set assembly comprises a needle assembly (29) having a tissue piercing tip (212), a tissue receiving aperture (278), and a fluid sealing mechanism. The probe assembly comprises a tissue cutter (107) and an internal helix mechanism (282). 摘要： A surgical device comprises a housing, a plurality of media reservoirs, an end effector, and a pumping device. Each media reservoir is configured to receive at least one component of a tissue repair composition. The end effector is configured for insertion into a lumen to deliver a tissue repair composition into that lumen. The end effector has at least one fluid conduit and at least one orifice in communication with the fluid conduit. The pumping device is operable to urge a tissue repair composition comprising at least a portion of the contents of the plurality of media reservoirs through the fluid conduit of the end effector such that the tissue repair composition is expelled from the at least one orifice. The media reservoirs may contain medical fluid components such as viable cells and scaffold material to repair a fistula or address some other condition in a patient.

摘要： A tissue retrieval device comprises a tissue retrieval bag and resilient arms. The bag is releasably engaged with the resilient arms. One or two resilient arms expand the bag along a first plane to open the mouth of the bag. Another resilient arm expands the bag along a second plane to unfurl the bag. The first plane is substantially perpendicular to the second plane. The device further comprises a support tube having a passageway and a push/pull rod slidingly positioned within the passageway. The resilient arms are engaged with the push/pull rod such that the resilient arms and the push/pull rod travel uniformly relative to the longitudinal axis of the support tube. The arms collapse within the support tube and are resiliency biased to extend outwardly when the push/pull rod is translated distally relative to the support tube to expose the bag and arms.

摘要： A tissue retrieval device includes a tubular member, an expandable member, and a tissue retrieval bag. The introducer tube is sized to be inserted into a patient through a trocar. The bag may be selectively opened by the expandable member within the patient. The bag may receive a tissue specimen and be withdrawn from the patient. The bag may be manipulated for packing within the tubular member in a variety of ways. Manipulation of the bag may include folding the bag about axes that are perpendicular to or parallel to the tubular member; rolling the bag about axes that are perpendicular to or parallel to the tubular member; or wrapping the bag about the expandable member, wrapping the bag about a rod, or twisting the bag at a position distal to the expandable member.
