    • A method and arrangement is provided for adjusting the transmission power of radio signals sent over a radio link from a second node to be received by a first node reducing the transmission power consumption and/or optimizing the radio system capacity. The first node maintains a quality target of the link by generating a SIR target value by means of running an outer loop power control, which SIR target value is used for generating a power adjustment command to be sent to the second node for adjusting the transmission power such that a power level adequate for providing the quality target of the link is achieved. The method comprises the step of detecting an abrupt change in the conditions of the radio signals received from the second node, generating a temporary SIR target value, and replacing the SIR target value generated by the outer loop power control with the temporary SIR target value when generating the power adjustment command to be sent to the second node for adjusting the transmission power.

    • The present invention relates to a method and a UE having a receiver with at least two receiver branches, capable of measuring or estimating a first channel quality of at least one down link channel. The UE comprises means for determining whether a first condition is fulfilled where said first condition is fulfilled when a difference between a measured or estimated first channel quality and a predefined maximum reportable channel quality indicator value is greater than or equal to a first threshold (Ti), and means for switching off at least one receiver branch for the reception of the at least one down link channel provided that the first condition is fulfilled.     • The disclosure relates to a method in a macro base station of a heterogeneous wireless communication system, for reducing uplink interference at a radio base station with restricted wireless access. The uplink interference is caused by a user equipment served by the network node, which has a restricted wireless access to the radio base station. The method comprises receiving (310) measurement reports from user equipments served by the network node, and identifying (320) a user equipment causing uplink interference at the radio base station among the user equipments, based on the received measurement reports. The method also comprises obtaining (330) information relating to a total uplink received interference from the radio base station via the identified user equipment, and adjusting (340) a transmit power, a transmission activity, and/or a scheduling of the identified user equipment based on the obtained information, such that the uplink interference caused by the identified user equipment is reduced.

    • In its various aspects, the present invention addresses the many challenges associated with making timing measurements involving multifarious radio links. Such measurements are referred to herein as "enhanced" to connote that such timing determinations are being made across multifarious radio links. Here, a radio link will be understood as connecting two radio nodes, and two radio links are considered to be multifarious with respect to each other if they are opposite in terms of uplink and downlink transmit directions, and further if they are associated with different cell identifiers and/or if the two links are between different pairs of radio nodes. In this context, the teachings herein disclose the sharing of "enhanced timing measurement" capability information, e.g., between radio nodes and positioning nodes. Such information indicates the enhanced timing measurement capability of a radio node. Sharing such information enables another node, e.g., a positioning node, to determine an enhanced timing measurement configuration to be used by a radio node. Further, additional teachings herein disclose advantageous configurations for making enhanced timing measurements, and techniques for compensating timing measurements determined from multifarious radio links, e.g., compensating for frequency-dependent propagation time differences.

A method aspect of this technique includes monitoring a signal quality of an anchor component carrier associated with a serving cell of a mobile terminal and used by the mobile terminal. If the signal quality of the anchor component carrier violates a first signal quality condition, then a parameter (of, e.g., a downlink signal) of at least one candidate component carrier associated with the serving cell and distinct from the anchor component carrier is measured and the signal quality of the at least one candidate component carrier is determined based on the measured parameter. If the determined signal quality fulfils a second signal quality condition, then reselection to the at least one candidate component carrier is initiated such that the candidate component carrier becomes the anchor component carrier associated with the serving cell and used by the mobile terminal.
